Homemade Items for The Homeless

knitted hats and personal care items for homelessOur friend Yvonne has once again donated, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and 3 lovely warm knitted hats! Hats as always are so nicely done, great colors, soft, thick and warm. Many thanks Yvonne for your skillful hands and your ongoing support. We truly appreciate you, as do the homeless here in Ohio that you donate too.

**From now until October 8, one month from today I'll toss names into a hat for everyone who donates a scarf for a teen or adult...male or female. Feeling like we need to bump those numbers a bit and will draw the winning name from the hat and send out a box of yarn. Contests are fun. We've had several fun, productive, and successful contests. Every scarf donated for a teen or adult (at least 5 inches wide and 5 feet or longer please), will qualify. ** After all, scarves are our highlighted item for September so this seems to make good sense.

Helping Ohio's Homeless in so many ways

personal care for homelessThank you Yvonne S for your continued support and thoughtful donation. It's through continued hard work and caring hearts like yours we're able to help so many people in need. Wonderful donations like this make me feel like it's Christmas everyday of the year. People take time and make something with yarn with their knitting needles or crochet hooks, they often add extra goodies like above. These personal care items will be greatly appreciated by our folks under the bridges, by the men, women, and children at the various shelters connected to Faith Mission.

Thank you for your donation of 6 cotton cloths, 14 bars of soap, 12 razors, 5 deodorants, 5 shampoos, 5 toothpaste's, and 8 toothbrushes.

Helping from Head to Toe

socks, slippers, poncho'sThank you Yvonne for helping warm our homeless from Head to Toe. Poncho's have hoods, and socks help warm the feet. With this thoughtful donation of 6 pairs of socks, 4 ponchos, and a pair of slippers you're helping our homeless truly head to toe! The slippers are knitted with double yarn, so are nice and thick and warm. Many thanks!

7 More Days of April Showers, folks. Still plenty of time for you to get in on the action and help keep a homeless person in need dry.

**This is post #398, only 2 more to go until we reach milestone 400. PLEASE don't miss it, a special announcement for a contest you really don't want to miss will be announced.**

***Reminders, tuck in ends when you change or add yarn, stay away from open-see through type stitches (if you're able to see your hand through your projects, try going down a size with your hook to obtain a tighter and warmer item). Though we highlight an item each month, we continue to collect hats, scarves, mittens, and slippers all year long. When you come visit the blog, please leave a comment so we know you were here.***

Thank you to all for all do.

Squares, hats, socks, and scarves for our Homeless in Need

Thank you Yvonne all the way from North Dakato. Lovely squares (4 knitted for Give a Square), 6 pairs of socks (always needed), 4 fabulous warm soft knitted hats, and 2 very cool knitted scarves. YIPPEE. This is one of the boxes of thoughtful donations that arrived while I was out of town. My very dear neighbor (best neighbor in the world!), took great care of all these important boxes. Both he and my mail man know they contain important help for our homeless in need.

Yvonne your on going help and support is greatly appreciated. Thank you and please keep up the good work. Yvonne also included 2 packs of soap and shampoo. Personal care items are a bonus in deed.

Our February focus folks are slippers, for men, women, and children.

Photo's taken and blog posts written and in que for donations from: Minnisoda, Sandie from LA, Eve, Phyllis, Stephanie, Trudy, Brenda & Sharon S, Sally, Sarah S, Marie Anne, and Amy. Please check back and enjoy the pictures of their lovely donations.

Thank you Yvonne!

Yvonne sent lots of wonderful goodies for our folks in need. YIPPEE!!! She sent some yarn which I'll use to make some scarves and other needed items, she sent soap she's collected at hotels, white and black footies.

6 Fabulously warm knitted hats of various sizes and a great scarf that I think might be double thickness. A Wonderful assortment of colors too. People are going to be warm, and look great all at the same time.

These hats are darling, look at the cool edge. Click on the picture so you can see the detail.

I hope you've noticed how many new pairs of helping hands we're getting. It's really very exciting. I try to remember to add names to our blog log for those folks with blogs and hope you take the time to visit each other. For those without blogs I've a list too. If you see I've forgotten to add your name, PLEASE let me know. If at one time you didn't have a blog and so you're on that list and you begin blogging, sing out so I can make the change.

Keep those hooks and needles busy, keep inspire each other, you are all FABULOUS. I'm leaving this (((((((((((((HUG)))))))))) for you all!

**This post officially ends the contest, pop back to see who our winner is, will be announced in the very next post!**

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
