**Amended to indicate this project will activated for 1 month yet this summer, July 2011**
Please consider making a square or two with your odds and ends. It's a great way to bust your stash. I'll be accepting squares during the months of November, December of 2010, January of 2011, July 2011, AND December 2011. The squares will be joined and afghans given to one of 3 charities, based on completed size, color, and need at the time.

Colors?

Any, except White

Yarn

Knitted Worsted Weight
Washable Wool

SQUARES PLEASE NOT RECTANGLES
Can be knitted
Can be crocheted
Can be loomed
**Remember to work in a tail of at least 5 inches before cutting yarn when you change or add yarn.  Always work in all ENDS, except the last and final tail.  Leave at least a 5 inch tail**

The afghans assembled from your donated squares will be donated to: Faith Mission, Homeless Families Foundation, and our Friends at Pine Street Inn.**CURRENTLY OUR FOCUS IS THE HOMELESS FAMILIES FOUNDATION FOR HOUSE WARMING GIFTS AS THEIR TRANSITION FROM TEMPORARY HOUSING TO PERMANENT HOUSING.

Hats, Mittens, scarves, and slippers of course are still are primary mission.  However, I thought it appropriate to stretch ourselves a bit with this call for squares.

Have added a badge to the sidebar using above logo/avatar of squares should you wish to post with link on your blog.

Leave tail at the end, but if you're changing colors work in your other tails.  DO NOT TIE AND CUT IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE KNOT, THAT IS GUARANTEED TO COME UNDONE.  Knot if you want, but leave a tail and work in your ends.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
