Donating Knitted Cotton Washcloths

Thank you Dee Ann H for this thoughtful donation of knitted cotton washcloths.  Look at the variety of styles and stitches she's used.  Please remember folks you can always click on pictures to make them larger to see details.  Camo, so perfect for our men folk.  Cotton cloths have a large variety of uses.  They're used by our folks living in the elements as both wash and dish clothes.  Likewise, our friends in shelters..  They're often used in welcome home packs for our homeless friends who transition from shelter living to their permanent housing situation.

Many thanks Dee Ann, happy to have you helping us here on Bridge and Beyond.  Please know you make a difference, an important one in the lives you touch.

Thank you Emily K for your Crocheted Donation to Help Homeless

Thank you Emily K for your on going support of Bridge and Beyond.  Emily has been busy, as you can see with this thoughtful donation of crocheted goodies.  She crocheted 2 hats, a pair of mittens and a pair of slippers.  In addition, she's crocheted 5 kitchen scrunchie.  I am not sure what type of yarn/fiber is used for those scrunchies and or what pattern Emily used, but would like to know.  Looks like a useable item for the welcome packs Homeless Families Foundation puts together when people transition from shelter to their permanent housing situation.  I will try to follow up on this item and let you all know.  I think I'd like some for my own kitchen, how bout. You all?

Please keep up the good work Emily, and know you are appreciated.

Crochet Donations Warm Homeless

Thank you Barbara F for this wonderful and thoughtful donation of crocheted goodies.  LOVE the stitches you used in these scarves and matching hats.  AND special thanks too for tagging the hats with size.  That is very helpful, and appreciated by me AND the volunteers at the various shelters.  Barbara has also included a nice stash of personal care items.  Looks like our long time supporter of Bridge and Beyond, Barbara F has been traveling and saving up her hotel samples.  Great way to donate.
AND look at this very nice afghan/lapghan.  Blue is a color that works for anyone, male or female.  Very nice detail with the stitch selection and the corner to corner design.  Many thanks Barbara for all you do.  Whomever receives this will be thrilled.

Please keep up the good work and know you make a difference in someone's life.

Thank you!

Crocheted Scarves Help Ohio's Homeless

Thank you Kara T for this thoughtful donation of 4 crocheted scarves.  Two are traditional scarves, and two Infinity Scarves.  All are nicely made, super soft, and nice and warm!!  That's what I call a win win for those who receive these lovely scarves.  Karla your support of Bridge and Beyond is greatly appreciated, by me, by those volunteers at the various shelters, as well as those who will wear your crocheted items.  Even though it's summer here in central Ohio, we've had nights cool enough, I've closed the windows in the house and pulled up a blanket, so our homeless friends are still in need of warm items to help keep themselves warm.

Please keep up the good work, Karla!

Crochet Hat and Scarf Sets for Homeless

Thank you Karen S for this thoughtful donation of matching hats and scarves.  Karen, as you know, if you've been visiting the blog has this unique style crocheting where you get a lighter and darker side to her scarves.  She's paired these nice thick warm scarves with hats made on the loom, again nice and thick and warm....as you use double stands when knitting on a loom.

Her method has many names, and I've blogged about it before Click here to

to see the details in a u-tube video, as well as the blog post where I discussed it.  I keep saying I'm going to give it a try, but haven't yet.  Let me know if any of you have.

Many thanks Karen for your on going support!

Mother Daughter Team Up to Donate to the Homeless

Holly Cow!  Seriously, look at the number of cotton crocheted washcloths in this donation.  PLEASE click to enlarge so you can see what I'm talking about.  Some are spread out, others are stacked with the others of the same color.  This wonderful donation is a result of team work, team work of a Mother and Daughter.  Many thanks Lisa Z (daughter) and Ruth A (Mother) for your joining forces to make this donation possible.  Lisa has recently gone back to work full time, but had a nice stash of both yarn and cotton fiber..........so she buddied up with Mother, Ruth A who managed to crochet the stash into a generous donation!

Ruth has also crocheted scarves, nice dark solids, suitable for both men and women.  The dark solids are so nice for not showing the dirt for our homeless friends.

Great work ladies, please keep up the good work.  Hope the new job goes well for you Lisa.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
