Hats Warm Ohio's Homeless

Thank you Karen S for your thoughtful donation of hats and a scarf.  Karen looms the hats and uses the croknit hook to make her scarves.  The picture above is her most recent donation.  And as always she nicely tags her hats with size with a cute heart shaped tag.

This donation preceded the first picture; but some how this picture got buried in a wrong folder on my computer and I found it just the other day.  You can even tell the pictures were taken 2 different times, you can see sunshine in this 2nd picture, and we don't get much of that around here this time of the year.  Again you see Karen's cute hearts she uses to tag the hats with size.  Great variety in her hat colors.  Something for everyone here.

Hats, Scarves, Cotton Washcloths, Soap Sacks, Afghan !!!

Thank you AnneMarie D from New York for this lovely blue and white crocheted afghan.  A very interesting stitch, not sure I know what to call it.  This will work for men or woman, everyone loves blue.

AnneMarie has been very busy with her crochet hook.  Cotton Soap Sacks with soap inside them.  This has become a new and rather popular thing.  Click to enlarge and you'll see the soap sack tags.  These are referenced in a side group through Warm Up America and are very useful.  Nice variety of colors also.  The darker blue will work well for the men folk, while the lighter colors are nice for the ladies.

Look more awesome soap sacks! And knitted and crocheted hats, and crocheted cowls.  Remember to click to enlarge the picture so you can the nice texture in her two cowls.  Notice the knitted has are large enough to roll the brim up to make a really nice warm band.  The gray stripes to the left of bright purple is rolled up, but you can the hats before being rolled as well.  This design helps make this style hat size variable, which is super.

Can you say hats Galore!!  Some knitted, some crocheted, several different styles and sizes.....AND lots of different colors.  Some suitable for men, some woman, and some can do double duty.  WOW, and all nicely tagged with size.  AnneMarie has truly been BUSY and then some.

A bakers dozen (13).  While many feel the number 13 is unlucky....I'm feeling pretty lucky to receive this donation and I'm certain anyone receiving one of these well crafted hats will feel lucky too.  Again some are knitted, some are crocheted with a variety of styles, colors and sizes.  I'm getting tired for AnneMarie with all this work she's done.

Wow, hope you're still scrolling with me here, because AnneMarie is still knitting and crocheting.  More hats again with a huge variety, something to fit all heads  AND she's also crocheted cotton washcloths, and a couple of scarves on top of that.

Folks I'm missing a picture, double checking my notes for my count there was another group of 32 hats.  I don't know what happened to the pictures when I transferred them from my phone to the computer, but one picture is missing.  Sadly once I transfer from the phone the phone to the computer they're deleted on my phone.  Rest assured there were more fantastic hats of many colors and styles and sizes, both knitted and crocheted.

Afghans Galore and More to aid Ohio's Homeless

Thank you !  Sandra R from sunny Florida has been SUPER busy.  I wonder if she takes time eat or sleep.  The two tone Entrelac Knit Afghan is one of things she's busy making to donate to Bridge and Beyond to aid Ohio's Homeless and those in need.

This garter stitch knitted ripple (or wave stitch) is yet another item keeping her busy.  Please remember to click photo's to enlarge them so you can see the details, you don't want to miss anything.  This will work for a man or a woman in this color scheme.

This 2 tone green and white Entrelac Knitted Afghan will also work for a man or a woman.  And is sized such that it could be a nice family sized ghan.  I love the design.  This is not a stitch I have yet knitted myself...have any of you?

AND drum roll please for her 4th afghan.  See I told you she's been super busy.  And who doesn't like blue.  Whomever receives these ghans, be it a family, or man, or a woman is going to be very happy indeed.  And Warm.

Crocheted Gifts for the Homeless

Thank you Sandie P for this thoughtful donation.  She's crocheted 2 scarves and the other item is called a chest warmer.  The design of the chest warmer is from a mutual friend that both Sandie and I knew from being involved in several charity groups together.  I believe from memory her nickname from those groups and blogging was Ghost.  Her real name is Diane.  Sandie P has obtained permission from Diane's family to post her patterns.  She was really quite creative.  Sandie is in the process of posting Diane's patterns.  The link to Sandie's blog, where's she dedicated a page to Diane's patters is HERE.

Diane, prior to her death was an active supporter of Bridge and Beyond.  Please check out Sandie's blog.  She has wonderful tutorials as well as other patterns.

Warming Ohio's Homess

The awesome cowl (top right) was knitted by my Darling Daughter.  I LOVE the colors and the yarn is so nice and soft and warm.  I knitted the purple scarf with a mix of garter and stockinette stitches in sorta block formation.  The socks are a mix of slipper socks (still in the white package bank) with non skid bottoms (4 pairs), and 3 pairs short ankle socks.

Over the last couple of weeks I've blogged about various charities you might like to support; as Bridge and Beyond will cease operations this Dec 31.  Please mail your final donations by Dec 24th.
