Hand-made Items Help the Homeless
Missing picture of this donation...dang it. Marlene am so sorry, something happened to the picture of your donation. I had a note with the count and so was able to add your items to our totals to help us reach our goal...but the picture went missing. Pretty sure I took it, but when transferring from my phone to the computer, it vanished. Or perhaps it’s in a strange folder/file and I just unable to locate it to load it here for all to enjoy.
Folks, I know from my notes Marlene R had 2 hats, 7 scarves, and 22 cotton washcloths in her generous donation, plus a head band.
So sorry there’s not a picture, so included a cute meme I spotted on Facebook the other day for your enjoyment. Hope it makes you smile and nod your head, it did me. Currently, I have 3 projects on needles (2 afghans, and 1 shawl), but still I found myself bringing home some yummy yarn yesterday from the yarn store....it was after all 25% off...baby alpaca in a pretty blue tourquoise, how could I resist??
Thank you Marlene R and please keep up the good work.

Hats and Scarves and More Donated to Help Homeless
Look at this lovely donation from Donna G!. The hats are very versatile for size because they are nice and stretchy. Also, please notice in the picture I’ve rolled some brims up and others are down so you can see the flexibility. Very nice, plus we have 2 sets the royal blue and the black sets where the hats and scarves match. Thank you Donna, for taking time to tag the hats with size. It’s really helpful for me when separating and even better when the donations reach the shelters. I continue to encourage everyone to tag hats with size.
She also included some personal care items in her generous donation. Thank you Donna, please keep up the good work and know you are making a difference.

Crocheting a Corner to Corner Afghan in Sunny Florida Helps Those Homeless and Cold in Ohio
Look at this awesome crocheted corner to corner afghan from our good friend and long time supporter Sandra R from sunny Florida! PLEASE remember you can always click pictures to see details, to simply see it better and up close and more personal. I LOVE this ghan. It's colors work for men or women. It's a corner to corner design that we all love and it breaks up colors in a fun way that's always a surprise to both the knitter or crocheter as they work. I also love how nice and warm this is as the stitch is a good solid stitch. This afghan is sized nicely also, in that it will work nicely for an individual adult or a family.
Many many thanks Sandra for your talented hands, and your continued support of Bridge and Beyond and Ohio's cold Homeless in need. We truly value your support.
As always, please keep up the good work and know you make a difference. Thank you for all you do.

This Knitted Donation gets us Closer to our 2,000th Post Here on Bridge and Beyond
Thank you Theresa A for this thoughtful donation. Theresa has been busy, as yu can see with her knitting needles and yarn! She's knitted the ever popular corner to corner cotton washcloths, and two nice large scarves and a matching hat. What fun yarn. The scarves are long enough to really wrap up which is always appreciated. She's also included some personal care items.
Many thanks Theresa and please keep up the good work. Please know you make a difference to those in need.
Woot Woot!! Have you looked at our stats? Did you notice that with this post we're now at 1990, only 10 posts away from reaching 2,000 posts here on Bridge and Beyond!!

Crocheted Sets Warm Ohio's Homeless
Thank you Annemarie D from NY for this thoughtful and colorful donation. Annemarie's been busy with her crochet hook making matching sets of hats and scarves. She's also included a pair of fingerless mitss that match the bright multi-colored hat and scarf set.
Many thanks Annemarie for your on going support of Ohio's Homeless here on Bridge and Beyond, and please keep up the good work.
We're having high winds here in Central Ohio today as I type this post. The temps are actually nicer, though I'm sure that's short lived and the winds are nasty...no doubt making those living out in the elements cold and in need of warm lovingly made donations.

Blogging in Alphabetical Order A =
I will continue the practice of blogging in alphabetical order when I don't have donations to share with you all.
Abandoned, Anxiety, Arrest, Assistance. Those words are a few I came up with that start with the letter A and have a connection with homelessness. Feeling abandoned must be a daily occurrence for folks who are homeless. They might feel abandoned by friends, by family, by co-workers or even by the military. They might take up residence in an abandoned building.
No doubt they also experience much anxiety in the daily lives. Anxiety about finding food, being warm enough, being arrested. Often they are the first suspected of a crime. It's a sad existence for certain.
I read a statistic on a website filled with too many numbers to quote them all, but it indicated that on a single night in January of 2017, 553,742 people were homeless across the US. 65% of that number were homeless people who were sheltered for the night while 35% where un-sheltered. We work to ease the burden be they sheltered or un-sheltered individuals.
We do what we can do to ease the burden, to help warm, to help people feel less abandoned by society. One thing we do is make afghans. We knit them, we crocheted them and donate them. Additionally I often piece together squares or strips to make an afghan. The above brown afghan, Coffee Latte is one I started about a week ago. It's being knit in simple garter stitch. I'm also still working on Blue Ocean as well, though it's going a bit slower. It's a ripple using the stockinette stitch.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
