Bright Desert Afghan

Bright Desert when it was designed.  The picture is a bit light.  Several types of squares here from several different pairs of helping hands.   Most are squares worked in the round, but the bright blues are squares worked side to side.  I love the variety you get with different kinds of squares, different textures, and size sometimes too.

Thank you Sarah S!  Bright Desert turned out GREAT!  So, this is the after, after Sarah worked her magic with edging and joining.  And as you can see pictures taken in different light always makes the colors vary.
Wanted to take a couple so you could see it from a different angle.  Colors in the desert are ever changing, based on the light and the time of day, this afghan really brings that thought home to me.  Some think there's no color in the desert, but I've seen lots of variances from our camping and hiking days in the desert.......when we were younger.

Beautiful job Sarah, we truly appreciate you're helping hands!  Keep up the good work.  The folks that receive this ghan are going to be thrilled.

*be sure and pop back in for the other portion of Sarah's donation

Go Fish, Crocheted Donations

Thank you Anne G for this thoughtful donation of crocheted cotton washcloths and always needed poncho's.  We've had a much colder and wetter June here in Ohio than is normal so the poncho's truly are needed.  LOVE the nice selection of colors and sizes you made for the washcloths, and those cute cute fish........have never seen them before.  Can you share the pattern you used for them?

Please keep up the good work, and know how much your donations are appreciated.

Priceless Therapy

LOL.........truly!  I nodded and smiled when I spotted this cute and sooooooooooo very true comic.  How bout you?  We hear all the time how good knitting and crocheting is for stress reduction, for keeping our minds active etc.  This just seemed perfect.

Can you relate?  I know I can.  As I think of all the time I spent at my Mothers bedside during her long 7 week hospital stay prior to her passing, I think without yarn in hand I would have lost it.  It truly was beneficial to me, soothing for me, and soothing for her.  She knew I was there, she didn't feel she had to talk, she could rest, but we could just be together.  It gave me something to focus on, to help me stay rational.

Donation for Ohio's Homeless from Japan

WOW...........this awesome donation comes to us all the way from Japan!  Our first ever donation from that country.  Many many thanks Romi M for this donation.  Folks the picture doesn't show the pretty blend of blue-green that the yarn is.  Lovely matching hat and scarf.  Romi found us during the recent A-Z blog challenge.  Thrilled to have this donation from so far away.

Hope to see you here often on Bridge and Beyond, Romi.  Visiting and leaving comments is  also very helpful.

Please join me folks in saying hello to our newest pair of helping hands Romi from Japan.

Sorting Yarn

Sniker..........another chuckle for you all.  I've re-organized by stash several different ways, way weight, by type, then as it grew.......by color, so this spoke to me.  Does it you?

If I move it from the sofa to floor will I have more room?  hehe...

If you find cute pictures or fun comics we can share during these light donation times on the blog,  please message me.  Happy to share. As most of you know I try to have something up as close to daily as possible, though sometimes ...I'm not able.  The more frequent the blog is updated the better for it's placement in search engines...........the better we place in search engines the easier we are to find in a search............the easier we are to find in a search the more people offer their help.........the more people we have helping us....................the better our ability is to help others.

Email me, or contact me via the contact form in the right side bar.

Likewise if you see hear about a story about homeless that points out something we all should know, good, bad, or indifferent...........please let me know.

Personal Care for Homeless Always Needed

Thank you Dianne L for this thoughtful donation of personal care items and rain poncho's.  These are items always needed, all 12 months of the year.  Dianne was able to save lots of hotel goodies from some recent travels....perfect way to help the homeless without needing to spend money or time knitting and or crocheting.  She's also included some Avon Lip Balm/Chap Stick.........another item used all year long, be it cold for cracked cold lips or hot and cracked lips in summer's heat.

Many thanks Dianne, please keep up the good work, it's much appreciated.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
