LOL.........truly! I nodded and smiled when I spotted this cute and sooooooooooo very true comic. How bout you? We hear all the time how good knitting and crocheting is for stress reduction, for keeping our minds active etc. This just seemed perfect.
Can you relate? I know I can. As I think of all the time I spent at my Mothers bedside during her long 7 week hospital stay prior to her passing, I think without yarn in hand I would have lost it. It truly was beneficial to me, soothing for me, and soothing for her. She knew I was there, she didn't feel she had to talk, she could rest, but we could just be together. It gave me something to focus on, to help me stay rational.

Sorting Yarn
Sniker..........another chuckle for you all. I've re-organized by stash several different ways, way weight, by type, then as it grew.......by color, so this spoke to me. Does it you?
If I move it from the sofa to floor will I have more room? hehe...
If you find cute pictures or fun comics we can share during these light donation times on the blog, please message me. Happy to share. As most of you know I try to have something up as close to daily as possible, though sometimes ...I'm not able. The more frequent the blog is updated the better for it's placement in search engines...........the better we place in search engines the easier we are to find in a search............the easier we are to find in a search the more people offer their help.........the more people we have helping us....................the better our ability is to help others.
Email me, or contact me via the contact form in the right side bar.
Likewise if you see hear about a story about homeless that points out something we all should know, good, bad, or indifferent...........please let me know.

So You Think You Can Knit/Crochet ?
Spotted this funny a little while back and thought it was worth a share for all of us knitters, crocheters, and loomers. Made me chuckle, "you go girl",lol. Wasn't there something on TV several years ago about someone who knitted or crocheted super fast and set some worlds record? I used to crochet quite fast, have never knitted fast,...........but as arthritis becomes an issue it's important to slow down a bit.
This is the time of year when donations naturally slow down. Or should I say have historically slowed down. Many people don't knit or crochet in warmer months, yarn sticks to your hands and who wants something hot on their laps....I get that, but would suggest making other things vs not making anything until bad weather comes again. I've also found sitting at a table and having the item on the table is somewhat helpful vs having the item in your lap, particularly a larger item, however.........for those of us who knit/crochet in front of the tv, that method may not work.
We have had a wetter than normal spring here in Central Ohio, while many parts of The US really need our rain. Too bad we can't share it some how. It would eliminate the flooding in some areas and the drought conditions elesewhere. We can't really knit or crochet something that keeps someone dry in these wetter than normal conditions, but no doubt our hats are often used in the evenings. As a result of being wetter, it's also cooler.
Please keep The Homeless in Your Thoughts all year long, not just in fall and winter. Thank you Write with Fey for adding our blog badge for Bridge and Beyond to your blog to help spread the word, it's appreciated. Fey's blog interviews writers, reviews books and discusses other book related items. If you're interested in building your reading list, or want to try something new..........please visit her blog and let her know you're from Bridge and Beyond. Alpaca My Bags
A little humor for you all, as I currently have no knitted or crocheted goodies to show you.
There are some donations in the works to share with you, so please keep checking in.
And remember as vacation times are up and coming for many of us, you can take your hook and needles on planes and yarn sure helps pass time while traveling either by plane or by car....as long as you're not the driver, lol. AND yarn doesn't add much weight to your suitcase. Plus vacations are good times to collect those little sample bottles of soap, shampoo, lotions etc from the hotels.

The Wrong Color....really!
Do you relate to this? LOL, not sure I do, in that I don't get angry, I'm more surprised and think..........how is that possible I don't have the right color? Or I have the color, but it's the wrong type of yarn. AND who doesn't like a good excuse to go yarn shopping?
Hope you got a chuckle and the next time you look through your yarn; maybe you'll think of this little comic.

July is Mitten Month
Thought you all might get a kick out of this comic I saw a few days back on Facebook! I know my hubby would prefer that I not talk about mine, lol.
Can you believe it's July? Good grief time goes by quickly. The focus for this month is mittens. We never get enough mittens, and I'm sorry to say there's very little information on our mitten tab; but do click it...it's a short read. Sometime back while editing the page blogspot had an oophs and I lost the whole page...argh...even the patterns. In the process of trying to rebuild that page so please feel free to let me know your patterns. Remember we can copy and paste patterns that are copyrighted, but we can provide links and give credit if the pattern is here on line or is your own pattern.

Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets
Thought you all might get a kick out of this cute cartoon about how nuts we who knit and crochet are. I can't remember if I saw this on Facebook or on LionBrands site; maybe both. Anyway, thought it was cute and worth a repeat.
Hope you're all keeping busy now the weather has finally turned nice in most places. We're still closing windows and putting on fleece some days/nights here. Normally that's not the case for this time of year, it's been a bit wonky. Do keep your fingers busy with hooks, yarn, and needles. We like to collect and delivery our awesome donations all year long.....even in summer.
June is slipper month, hope we get huge numbers of slippers. We need slippers for men, women, and children. Remember slippers should be made nice and thick (no loose stitches please). PLease check the slipper tab for ideas about how to use double yarn, or chucky yarn, or how to put 2 slippers together.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
