Thank you Carol C for this thoughtful donation of crocheted hats. The kids receiving them will be not only warm, but happy. Kids without warm clothing don't get to play outside with their friends at recess. Kids need to play with their friends so these hats will go a long way helping them be part of the group. We have many schools in the area where many of homeless live under bridges and near the shelters so even while homeless and in need these kids still try to attend school. The weather's getting ugly with dark, damp days and nights and warm items are such a blessing.
Thank you Carol for your thoughtfulness. I've tried locating Carol C through facebook, twitter, here on the blog, as well as many searches through my emails unsuccessfully. I'm not able to tell you where Carol's from; but keep hoping .......Carol if you're out there, please make contact with me. You can leave a comment here on the blog with your email and or send a private note through the contact me area in the right sidebar.

Hats and Mittens oh My!
Sorry this photo is so dark folks. I've edited it to lighten it as much as I can, but it was a really dark ugly wet day when I opened these donations from our good friend Sandra R from the sunny state of Florida. Sandra...you forgot to include some sunshine in the box, lol. Look at these awesome hats for school kids! What a wonderful box of goodies to help the cold kids in school. Many of these kids are homeless, and others come from very needy families. Kids without warm clothes to wait for the school bus and or be able to play with their friends outside at recess.
Hats all nicely tagged with size...YIPPEE!! AND, you all know I am currently dancing in the street with glee at receiving these mittens! Thank you Thank you Sandra for always coming through in this department. If only you could sit beside each of us and teach us how to make this awesome items. The need is great, we need your skills.
Please keep up the awesome work.

Yarn for Ohio's Homeless
LOOK, more yarn from our good friends Dianne and her mother Mary. I've posted the fun story about our meeting up in a parking lot for the infamous "yarn drop". If you missed the story, click HERE (plus you can more pictures of their generosity).
You can see Mary stored her yarn in all types of containers, from boxes, to bags, to fun tin cans. Yarn for so many projects, all to benefit the cold and needy in Central Ohio.
Looks like Mary had started a Christmas project here with the red, white, and green. But, the strip....which I believe was an afghan start is raveled in the middle, so I'll probably unravel this section to put the yarn to use in other projects.
AND.............drum roll, here's the last group of yarn. Picture #10. WOW, wow, and WOW.
Many thanks again Dianne and Mary, we truly appreciate you.

Hats Warm Cold Homeless Heads
Thank you, thank you Sandra R from the sunny state of Florida for this awesome donation of knitted hats. So many heads will be warmed by your generosity. LOVE the nice dark colors, preferred for our homeless for several reasons. Sandra has been a long time and very faithful supporter of Bridge and Beyond.
We're happy you joined us long ago, and that you've stayed the course. You and your skillful hands help so many people in need. The hats are nicely tagged with size. THANK YOU!! I rolled down the brim for the solid green hat in this 2nd picture so you could how the hat looks with the brim down. Nice to have these 2 options for folks, will also aid in fitting many different sized heads.
In this 3rd picture, as well as the first; you can see Sandra has knitted and donated cotton washcloths along with her awesome hats.
Please keep up the good work, Sandra!
**Carol C, come out..come out, wherever you are. Looking for your email addy, please make contact with me. Thank you**

Crocheted Hats for Homeless in Ohio
Thank you Sandie P, long time supporter of Bridge and Beyond for this wonderful donation of crochet hats. Special thanks for tagging them with size, that saves so many people so much time; both here at my house and at the various shelters where our crocheted and knitted donations go. Hint Hint...folks if you've not been tagging hats, mittens, and slippers with size PLEASE do.
Sandie P was I think the first supporter of Bridge and Beyond. If not the first, she was certainly one of the first. She and I had worked on a charity making afghans for victims of Katrina........if that gives you an idea how long we've know each other.
Please keep up the good work Sandie, and know how much we value your long standing support and talented hands.
These 4 hats will warm 4 people in need, many thanks!

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
