LOOK at these fabulous hats! I love the design, the colors and everything about them. Ear flaps add extra warmth, and they're very stylish. Thank you Dannie L from Ohio this thoughtful donation, and thanks too for adding tags with size! Click to enlarge the photo folks so you see the detail in these knitted hats. Awesome job. I wish my knitting skills could match this...maybe when I grow up, lol.
As I type this scheduled post , we're once again expecting yet another snow and ice storm to hit Ohio. We're certainly not the only state lined up to get slammed again with frigid temperatures, too many are. These storms add more difficulty for our homeless. Please keep them in your thoughts during these very difficult times.

Knitted Donations for Homeless
Thank you Linda W. from Ohio for this thoughtful donation of knitted hats and slippers for our cold, homeless and those in need here in central Ohio. Linda has also included personal items, which are always needed and appreciated by those living under the bridges, as well as those in the shelters. Special thanks for taking time to add size tags to your hats.
As of the writing of this scheduled post it's 20 degrees here in central Ohio, feels like 11. And we're hopeful if the sun comes out today (as promised), we'll manage to get this snowfall melted........before it snows again tomorrow. Would be nice to at least get a fresh start and not have snow piled on snow. Spring is "officially" 31 days and 6 hours away; though we'll continue to have about 2 more months of cold weather here or more. Frost is a danger until after Memorial Day, so please don't slow down with the knitting, crocheting and donating folks...the cold homeless are still very much in need.
Reminders:
**Please remember to tag all hats with size, as well as mittens and slippers**
***Please remember to avoid white, tan, beige and light colors that easily show dirt***
****Please remember to include a note with your name and email addy with your donations****
2014 Donations:
Hats: 138+6=142
Scarves:62
Socks: 6
Afghans: 9
Slippers: 17+3=20
Rain Ponchos:
Mitten: 7
Cotton Washcloths: 56
Shawls, Sweaters, Vests, Poncho's, Skirts etc. :
Today is March 1st, our focus for the month of March and April will be on Men and their needs. Men need dark, solid, sturdy hats, scarves, mittens, and slippers; as well as store bought socks and personal care items.
All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated. The Power of One is awesome, and when we work together The Power of One becomes The Power of Many.

Hats for Homeless
Pick and size and color.......I think Tristi K. got it covered with the donation of crocheted hats. Beautifully made, and nicely tagged with size. Thank you Tristi. Wish we could have connected, and hope we can next time. It's always nice to catch up over a cup of tea. A fun mix of hats for the school kids, including some nice darker colors for the boys.
Thank you and please keep up the good work. Not only will 20 kids be warmer, but they'll look great with this donation.

Donations from Neighboring West Virginia
Thank you Kathy U from West Virginia for this thoughtful donation. Kathy's knitted hats, scarves, and slippers. Thank you Kathy for tagging your hats and slippers with the size, much appreciated. I love the nice variety in hat sizes you made...something for a variety of head sizes. I'm partial to those hats that stretch so much. Nicely done!
Please keep up the good work.

Crocheted Donations for Those in Need
Another bright donation from our good friend RoseMarie. Personal care items, slippers, hats, and a headband.......but then you all knew that. We all know her signature mark of trim and flowers. Thank you RoseMarie, as always we're thrilled to have you among us and know you'll continue to be supportive.
Folks, please let me encourage you all to scroll back 3 posts. There are 2 posts I'd truly like you all to read, and comment on.

Funky Fall Afghan Needs a Bath
Funky Fall is in need of the final tail being tucked in and then it can get a bath. LOL, Remember all ghans need to be laundered and blocked, it really finishes them, makes them softer, and removes all the dander, oils, hair, dust etc that settles on yarn while in the stores, in our stash, and during the time we work on our projects. Really this is true of almost everything we make, but a ghan probably the most because it tends to take longer to make and therefore has more time to pick up dust, odors, dander etc. Hats and scarves really do well in the laundry too. It's easy to do a whole load at one time if you have a large box of something you've completed. Though more directions say dryer normal heat I dry items on LOW only, and ghans I lay out to block. No, I'm not saying I launder everthing you all send, I never get done; but do encourage you to think about how old the yarn is you're using for items and whether or not it should be laundered when completed.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
