Crocheted Donations Help Ohioans in Need

Thank you RoseMarie for your thoughtful donation of personal care items, cotton washcloths, and crocheted hats and a scarf.  Thank you for your on going support of Bridge and Beyond.    We truly appreciate you.

Folks as I'm typing this scheduled post, I'm sitting with a lapghan on and a fleece.  It's cold!  It was 16 when I got out of bed this morning with a wind chill making it feel like 8.  As you knit and crochet, please double check the tightness of your stitches.  With temps and winds like that we need items not to be too open.  If you can see through, and or put your fingers through your stitches, please consider bumping down to a smaller size hook/needle in order to get a more solid item.

We'll be going a slightly different direction with our working calendar in the coming year, so please keep checking in.

Do you check the item specific tabs across the top of the blog before you make items?  If not, folks please do.  It's important we make was is needed.

Hats for Heads Help the Homeless

Thank you Linda W from Ohio for this wonderful donation of knitted hats!  Hats to fit adults and one for a child as well.  Really like the one pictures lowered left with the wide stretching ribbing...helps to fit different sized heads.  Very nice!!

Please keep up the good work Linda, warm heads make such a huge difference in someone's comfort, even in the cold outdoors.  It's currently 34 degrees, but feels like it's 26 degrees with the wind chill, so hats are most definitely needed and very much appreciated.

Hand Delivered Donation Helps Ohio's Homeless

Thank you Nikki S for this thoughtful crocheted donation.  Nikki has donated a shall, couple of scarves, cowls, and one of those hoody scarf combinations.  The picture turned out pretty dark, as it was such a dark gloomy day here.......even with the lights on, and even with editing the picture here on the computer......such is central Ohio in winter.  The hood scarf combo is the dark scarf at the bottom of the picture, please click to enlarge to see better.

Special Thanks Nikki for delivering this to me in person!

Autumn Colored Afghan Welcomes Homeless

Love the colors in this crocheted shell stitch afghan.  This will make a child, boy or girl very happy and is also sized well for a nice lapghan for any adult.  This beautiful afghan comes to us from the skillful hands of our good friend, Annemarie from New York.  When we donate afghans to The Homeless Families Foundation they make a wonderful "Welcome Home" gift to those families transitioning from shelter living to their permanent residence.  It's a way to celebrate the move, to congratulate them on making it happen, and a way to wish them the best of luck for the future.

Thank you Annemarie for your continued support of this cause.  We truly appreciate you here on Bridge and Beyond, and I know the recipients do as well.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
