YIPPEE!!!!

knitted scarves and money
We are making headway folks on all fronts. A nice card with $$ to purchase socks came while I was out of town from Cowgirl (Chris). I think I'll be able to get another dozen socks with this. Many thanks!

And a package has been sitting at the post office (insufficient postage, it wasn't lost; but apparently the notice telling me to pick it up was). Sarah, I'm not sure who you are here on the net; Sarah from Hawaii, lots of thanks for the 2 scarfs. Both are knitted. These are scarfs #66 and 67

Sing out if you're Sarah or know who she is, I like to make sure I know who's who.

Keep those hooks and needles flying.

It's still quite cold here much is still needed.
**I should add, unpacking and doing laundry today but plan to go shopping tomorrow for the socks!

Happily reporting more goodies!

Another great scarf from Sandie with a pair of teal mittens. This will be a little mini team effort. Sandie sent enough yarn for me to finish the thumbs which I will do hopefully tonight. Mitten #26 and Scarf #63

Thank you Margie the ladybug....hats #141-142-143-144-145. I like how the ridges show up so nicely in the multi-colored blue hat. These hats will be well received. Though we had a few days of warmer weather and got the bulk of the snow melted, the past fiew days have gotten cold, and extremely windy.

James sent some wonderful knitted items. 2 warm scarfs and 3 pairs of mittens! Yippee more mittens. Scarfs # 64-65, Mittens #27-28-29

Molly sent 2 pairs of hand/writ warmers. Look at the fun colors. Thanks Molly

I got 12 pairs of socks while out shopping yesterday and will get all these goodies over to SIL tomorrow so she get to Rae for another delivery. I've bundle the socks to get a pair together.

Thank you all for the love you show, the kindness and generosity. You are all AWESOME

**this will be my last update for a week or so, as I'll be leaving town, I'll check in with you all on my return.

Thank you, Thank you!!!

Updates, socks needed

I got to meet with Rae the other night face to face. I work so many evenings it's not been possible previously so it was great fun for Rae, Jan (SI), and I to get together and talk about this project. Made another delivery to Rae that she will pass on today. Today is a visit the bridge day.

The men under the bridge continue to be pleased to receive warm items to keep them warm. They're currently doing well with hats, but are still in need of mittens. Rae mentioned they need socks. It's cold, wet, damp etc. Cold wet feet, and no real way to dry their socks in this outdoor enviornment. So, for the time being I'm asking if you're able to buy a package of mens socks and forward them. Having clean, dry socks to change into will make them more comfortable and perhaps keep them well.

I've posted again about this project being on going. I've added that in fact to the welcome area, as I continue to get questions regarding that. It's hard I know for everyone involved to read every post here, so hopefully that will help. I've updated our counters to reflect the time of year and upcoming holiday. For fun, I've added a rate the page widget. Seems I've lost my feed for the cool weather widget. Errrrr

I mentioned previously (and have added in the welcome), a free clinic in the same area as the bridge that takes care of homeless who can get there, and indigent folks in the area. The clinic sees women and children. We've received some items geared more toward children and women and those have been extremely well received there. So much so in fact, can we do more? Hats and scarfs for grade school children specifically. Any hats and scarfs not needed for the men, or those that are color or size appropiate for the women can be used for those in need at the clinic. There is so much need, nothing will go used. Rae see's the need in both areas and can appropiately access and distribute the right items to the right people.

And here's some more goodies. Stella of course wanted to have everything on at one time. Oh Stella! This scarf is a beautiful brown tweed crocheted by Sandie. The red, white and blue hat is also another Sandie creation. She makes beautiful items and, as always Sandie many many thanks for your ongoing support. HUGS

Mittens, & Scarfs, and Hats OH MY!

Using Crochet Princess's pattern, I got another pair of mittens done. #25. Using basic light grey Red Heart Super Saver Yarn.

Got another scarf done, #59, using dark forest green Caron pounder. Probably my favorite of the basic acrylic yarns for both price, and softness.

My hippy dippy mailman, actually a super nice guy...delivered a pouch from Sand ie. Another of her famous multi-colored scarfs. Such a pretty combination and nice and wide for the men. Scarf #60

He also delivered a pouch from Kristin with a matching hat and scarf set. Hat #139, and scarf #61. It's blue and green; one of my personal favorite color combinations. Very nice! I think I'll mark this one for the folks at the clinic, as the women there would enjoy this, or perhaps one of the teens.

Please hop over to Sandie and Kristin's sites to let them know how much they are appreciated.

My latest email from Rae folks indicates our men are doing fairly well. We've been able with your help and support to have all clothed with a hat and or a scarf....for the time being! Her last trip to the free clinic in the same area which takes care of homeless and the indigent in the area was thrilled, and she was moved to see how much those folks appreicated some warm items. She indicated, though we've been focusing on the men under the bridge, there is a need for items hats and scarfs for children. Is this something you're all willing and able to do? I see it as an extension of our Bridge Project.....Bridge and Beyond so to speak. We will continue with our regular items (still big need for mittens for men), but include smaller items suitable to children and Rae will divide between these 2 purposes based on the need and our inventory.

Thanks again for all your support, your encouragement to make life a little better for those less fortunate than us. The crafting community never ceases to inspire me.

The love and caring you all put into your work does indeed give these folks hopes for a brighter future.

Blessings to all of you!

More Warmth to share!!!

Here's Stella modeling a patriotic hat and scarfs set made by Sandie. Yummy as always. This will keep someone warm and make them feel patriotic at the same time. Thanks so much Sandie for your ongoing support. Hat #137, Scarf #56

Here's our Stella again, she sooooooo loves to get in the middle of things. She's modeling a wonderful knit cap (such fabulous soft yarn), made by Katie, hat #138. You will make someones' day with this for sure! Around her neck and beside her are two very pretty scarfs crocheted and donated by Susan (through The Angels Scarf Ministry). Aren't these pretty. I really like the nice edge you put on the granny square scarf. Very nice! Scarf #57 and #58

Thank you all.

Thank you so much

I've got a scarf and pair of mittens started and am hoping to finish this wkend. Though since I'm working the bulk of Sat, it's a very short wkend for me. It's been a couple of wild work weeks. We're trying hard to make up for being short on quota's with the large number of people who canceled and or didn't show for the food taste test.

--------Lots of snow flying here today, if it is in your areas, stay warm and safe, please.

Housekeeping item: This blog will show up in your dashboard area if you're a follower; but no longer as a team thing. Had some tech issues and nixed that. You all still have the ability to post comments. The only thing thats different is that you'll need to post comments rather than blogs...though thats what 99.9% of you did anyway, so really not much of a difference.

All are still listed as team members.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
