Crocheted Cotton Wash Cloths Help Homeless

WOW....take a look at these two pictures of cotton crocheted wash cloths!  Every imaginable size and color exists.  Some are squares, some are rectangles, some are big, some are small, some are solids, some are variegated, so are multiple colors!!!  Some colors are more suited to women, and some will work for men.  This donation of 72 crocheted cotton washcloths comes from Crochet in Love, in New Jersey.    This is the result of many pairs of helping hands in a church group who's motto is "We Serve The Lord by Service Others".
On the business card are 3 names listed: Donna, Sandra & Dee.  I don't know if these ladies are the organizers and others are involved, but that's, I believe, my understanding.  Delores M contacted me and indicated her community had been crocheting for over a year and liked to send their items out to help others.  We're thrilled you and your community of caring crocheters found us here at Bridge and Beyond.  Cotton Wash clothes are used in a variety of ways.  Our folks living out in the elements love them and use them both for dish cloths and body cloths.  The folks in the shelters the same.  Often these are put in welcome home packs when folks transition from shelter living to a more permanent housing situation.

Thank you ladies from The First Pentecostal Church in Neptune, NJ.  We appreciate your hard work and dedication to helping others.

Please keep up the good work.  We hope to see you here again on Bridge and Beyond.

With this donation, please notice we have surpassed our donation total for washcloths from last year!  Isn't that wonderful news.  Does that mean you shouldn't make more cotton washcloths, no; they are always needed.  However it might mean, if you don't know what you want to make, you might steer towards hats, or scarves or mittens, or slippers; since we're still well behind last years totals on those items.

**We started the year with the number of items we had donated last year, 2016; and will subtract our donations from that.  Using the end number for 2016 as the goal for the each item.  So, as the year continues you will see numbers decrease.  Our goal is to meet and surpass the number of items donated last year.**

All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated. The Power of One is awesome, and when we work together The Power of One becomes The Power of Many.

knitted hats for homeless11 Lovely Knitted hats for our our homeless and folks in needs. WOW, thank you Sandra. The kids are gonna love these adorable warm hats. I'm particularly fond of the spiral stripes and must look into what pattern that is. I've added Sandra's blog link to our blog log, hope over and say hi. I'm sure you'll enjoy your visit at Thistle Cove Farms was Sandra knits, spins, cooks and many other things.
donated yarnThank you also Sandra for yarn donation. I've already begun knitting with the pink. It's 3 ply, so a bit lighter weight. At the moment I think it's headed to be a baby blanket for one of a couple charities, depending on it's finished size. If not a baby blanket, I believe it would make a wonderful Kidney Kozy.

Many thanks for your thoughtful donations.

Keep up the good work, one and all. Busy hooks and needles and happy hooks and needles; and you know the cold weather will be upon all too soon.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
