Thank you Emily P for thoughtful donation. Emily has covered a couple of areas here with her donation variety. She has crocheted scarves, nice large ones the adults will enjoy and items Rae will put to good use as she prepares and feeds cold homeless folks on Saturday mornings. She's included plastic grocery and garbage bags, Styrofoam cups, and plastic containers. There's also a nice cheery cotton washcloth.
The plastic containers will be used for left overs and meal preparation, the cups to serve hot chocolate and coffee, the garbage bags for the homeless to put their few belongings in, the grocery bags to carry their hot meal in.
Very nice and please keep up the good work, Emily.

Donations to Kick off March
It's March 1st, and yes that is actually sunshine you see in the picture coming from the living room picture window. It gives us hope that it will warm up and spring will come; though I fear it's still a good while off. I'm also getting excited to see it stay lighter a little while longer at night. It was not totally dark the other night around 6 pm...yes here that is something to get excited about.
Thank youj Emily for this wonderful donation, it's greatly appreciated. What a variety of goodies she sent. 10 cotton washcloths, 2 little sewing kits (the women in the shelters may be able to put those to good use), 6 pair of socks for the ladies, 2 scarves, 12 pairs of socks for the men, and plastic silverware and foam plates. Rae will use the plastic silverware when she passes out her hot meals on Sat mornings, no doubt the plates will get put to use then as well.
Thank you Emily for your thoughtfulness and please keep up the good work.
*March will focus on afghans and rain poncho's. In addition to the afghan I assemble (or get help assembling) from your donated squares you can knit and or crochet completed afghans. You can also make a quilt. Guideline for colors and size etc can be found in the

Cotton Washcloths Donated for Homeless Shelters
Thank you Emily P from Ohio for this colorful array of cotton washcloths. The shelters love getting these cotton washcloths for the folks. Emily has also included some wonderful personal care items...something always in demand.
Emily is our newest pair of helping hands, welcome Emily. Hope to see you here often on Bridge and Beyond.
Thought I mention I always collect the soaps, shampoo, lotions etc from the hotels when we travel, it's amazing how fast they add up. Makes for a good way, without spending money to donate personal care items. Do you travel often? Does you hubby or co-workers travel for business? Ask someone today to take a zip lock bag with them in their travels and bring back some goodies for you. Sometimes you get a little sewing kit which is always nice, sometimes mouth wash...just depends where you go.

**The focus for the remainder of January is slippers. AND, we'll continue focusing on feet in February. Cold, and wet feet are miserable. So...for the month of February we'll continue with slippers as our focus AND add socks for the feet. Socks are store bought and should be for men who live outdoors 99% of the time. Remember to check out the slipper tab at the top of the blog for information about sizing, colors, styles, fiber type etc. You might enjoy using one of the patterns available there as well. February continues to be about feet.**
****Are you aware of our addition of accepting quilted scarves, and quilts? Are you up to speed and a member of our new Facebook Group?****

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
