Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Excellent program and one that could be used in many different cities across the country. Kind of goes back to the old story about give a person a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for the rest of his life. I know I didnt put that down correctly but you get the idea. Not only giving a person a pair of sox but teaching him to help make or ship the sox, and he not only has warm feet but a sense of pride in himself because he did something productive. He feels worthwhile. That is important in helping homeless people get back to having a sense of self worth and well being. I think this is a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS THE HOMELESS.marj in minnesota
ABSOLUTELY on the mark Marj. I love this program, and I enjoy their socks.
DeleteI love these socks. Wish I could wear them. My diabetes prevents that. They come in such in pretty colors and designs.
ReplyDeleteThe full socks are nice and warm and heavy for winter, and the footies are great in tennis shoes. I love mine. Do you have to wear special socks?
DeleteWhat a wonderful program this company has! We need more companies like this.
ReplyDeleteExactly right SSeger, such a worthy cause, and a good product. Everyone wears socks so am hoping people start purchasing from these folks. I've promoted them here several times on the blog.
DeleteSO good to have social contribution

So many companies are only interested in $$$, and over look the fact they could actually be part of something greater. Right you are Zannie, thanks!
DeleteIt is so nice to learn of different ways to help others.
ReplyDeleteThere really are many ways to help, and the problem is great, I believe everyone should be and can be doing something. Thank you Claire
DeleteThis is just wonderful and it should be everywhere. Actually, many, many years ago my hubby was on the streets for a few months when he was a teen and he appreciated anything that was given to him
ReplyDeleteWould you be willing to share his story? I'd love to blog about it Birgit, with or without his name, depending on his comfort zone. It's so important for people to understand that it really could happen to anyone,so they understand they shouldn't be looking down on them and mistreating them etc.
DeleteI will ask him if it is ok and as long as his name isn't used I think there shouldn't be a problem but I shall ask him since it is his story and not mine:)
DeleteThank you Birgit, much appreciated. Glad you saw my note. Had a note here to contact you, just hadn't gotten that far.
DeleteNice socks. :-)
