Box 1 from our good friend Marjorie M, lots of wonderful personal care items being donated. The nice little first aid kits...great idea.
50 crocheted cotton washcloths of every imaginable color filled Marjorie's 2nd box of donations. Wonderful mix of both male and female colors Marjorie. These are a HUGE hit at the shelters. These cotton washcloths get used when folks first come into the shelters with little more then what's on their backs for showers, they get used again as families move into temporary housing in the shelters for both showers and dishcloths, and they get used again when moving out packs are compiled when folks transition from shelter living to their permanent housing situation...again for showers and for dishes.
Keep up the good work Marjorie!
Folks if you didn't get a chance to see it, please scroll back 2 post
and read about the happiness challenge for August in addition to our
need of mittens and hats....the really tie in together. AND scroll back 3
posts if you missed it, I posted some numbers about where we were with
donations at this time last year compared to where we currently are. I
think it will help you see where the need lies, as well as see how well
we've done in some areas.
Thank you all.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

WOW!!! AWESOME JOB Marj!! Something that everyone can use! Love the idea of first aid kits and your washcloths are all wonderful! Your donation has brightened my day and given me much happiness! Keep hour hook flying!
ReplyDeleteYou are very sweet Sally. It gave me alot of happiness to crochet the cloths. I keep a skein of cotten yarn with me wherever I go. My family thinks I need therapy :+)My crochet club knows about B/B and I often work on things when I am with them. I guess I am addicted
ReplyDeleteKeeps me occupied and sane. :+) Have a wonderful weekend.
Nice work Marj! I also crochet to stay happy and sane, you do what works is my theory.
ReplyDeleteGreat donation Marjorie! Love all the colors you used for the wash cloths.
ReplyDeleteMarj I can think of a lot of worse addictions to have!! Much cheaper than going to a therapist or doing drugs and many other things! Your family just doesn't understand the crocheter's or knitters mind! It IS your therapy! As it is mine too!
