Blue Horizon Afghan Growing

The last time I shared Blue Horizon with you it was 26 inches, it's grown to 36 inches.  The wider brown strip is the middle, so you can see I'm close to being done with wider blue stripe which will then take me to the narrow light blue you see on the left.....so am getting there.  I forgot to measure how much is left, but eye-balling it, I'd say maybe 10 inches?

I like to have several projects going at one time, particularly when they're larger projects so I can switch around every few days.  How about you?

What's everyone working on?  Do you knit or crochet different projects as the weather warms up?

Donations Especially for the Ladies

Look at this wonderful donation from our good friend Marjorie M from Minnesota!  Loads of wonderful cotton washcloths, crocheted in lots of different colors, personal items geared towards the ladies.  AND see the pretty flowered gift boxes...look to the right and you'll see one opened up...it's an awesome insulated bag which will come in quite handy for the ladies on the streets.  Below is a close up of how the nice bag zips up.  I love these and will keep my eyes open for others.
Until recently, when I read an article indicating female supplies are in short supply at shelters I hadn't thought about how important having tampons and pads were and how demoralizing it must be for the ladies not to have clean items to change into during that time.  Thank you Marjorie for including those items in your personal care items.

As always, please keep up the good work.

Learning Logs, The 2nd Square

It's been awhile since I've shown you Learning Logs, almost done with the 2nd large square.  It's coming along better than the first square...
though it's still quite a labor for me.  I'm having fun with the whole mixing the colors, and by not totalling following the pattern (which only had logs on 2 of the four sides of the center square), and by placing the logs differently to have smooth logs to offset logs who's nature it is to curl etc.  It will be a color explosion when and if it ever gets done.

I also found a bit of a trick to keep from getting myself tangled up in my own yarn when knitting with multiple strands (sometimes you still have 3 attached).  Believe this is something they should have suggested in the lesson.  Take a peak HERE! (I blogged about it on my other blog, and it's not expensive)

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
