Ohio's Homeless Appreciate Marjorie M. from Minnesota.

Believe I've posted this cute cartoon before, but I know not everyone visits the blog daily, (though I'd love it if they did); so thought it was worth a 2nd posting.

We recently had a contest and Marjorie M. from Minnesota was one of the 4 winners.  To date, I've only heard back from 3 of the 4 winners.  Will give a few more days to hear back from the 4th winner.  I thought it might be nice to learn a little bit about each other, so wanted to share.  Marjorie is a crocheter...must look for a crochet cartoon sometime...she started donating to our cause, keeping Ohio's homeless warmer and safer back in the fall of 2012.  She's helped us in a variety of ways.  She crochets and donates, she's recruited additional pairs of helping hands by getting a Girl Scout Troop involved, and snagged her sister, Kari S from Wisconsin as well.  Additionally, she is extremely supportive with her visits to the blog, spending time reading and commenting and is a fabulous cheerleader always with something thoughtful to say about her fellow crocheters and knitters and others who support our cause.

Thank you Marjorie!  Please keep up the good work, and I hope you enjoy the little comic.

Senior Projects

This is a brown fleck cowl/gator/neck warmer knitted as a high school project.  It's soft and really nicely done.  This is a first project for high school senior Samantha W from C.K. McClatchy High School in Sacramento, California.

I need to improve Stella's face.  I am not an artist ...by then you could tell that, the minute you saw her face.  The styrofoam head is useful for modeling hats etc.  I named her Stella long long ago and attempted to give her a face...

I wanted to show you how the cowl/gator/neckwarmer keeps the neck warm.  It's large enough to be pulled up over one's mouth and nose, and or come down a bit on the shoulders for added warmth.  The pretty soft brown fleck yarn makes it versatile for either men or women.

Samantha is, as I mentioned a high school senior.  One of their requirements is to write a proposal of something they want to do that is a challenge.  She decided that learning to knit would be her challenge because it requires patience and concentration; and once knitted she would donate to a worth cause and found us, Bridge and Beyond doing  a search.

Nice work Samantha, enjoy the remainder of your Senior Year and best of luck with whatever your life holds for you after graduation.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
