**Reminders folks to check your donations, be sure all your ends are tucked in, and remember to always leave a tail of multiple inches to work in. Short tails are almost always guaranteed to come apart. I personally recommend working in your tail as you knit and or crochet vs leaving it for the end. It's less time consuming, and I believe the tails are more secure.**

It truly isn't possible for me to know and remember everyone over the number of years Bridge and Beyond has been in existence. I spend lots of HOURS, looking through emails, facebook friends, Rav friend, friends on The Hive and in The Ville; as well as yahoo mailing groups to try and identify donations without the information. I have no way of knowing if you want to be anonymous...if I knew that I could spend the time knitting and crocheting vs searching and searching. Knitted Hats and Slippers Donated

Keeping warm from the tips of their toes to the top of their heads. Many thanks Trudy S for this nice donation of 3 knitted hats and a pair of knitted slippers. We appreciate your on going support of our cold homeless here in Central Ohio.

Weather may be starting to improve in many of your locals, but even as weather starts to improve during the day, it's still cold and damp at night when you're living in the elements...so please keep your fingers busy with yarn crafting wonderful knitted and crocheted items to warm Ohio's homeless and others in need. We maybe cool and wear a hat outside, once indoors with the heat on, we're able to remove it; that's not necessarily the case for many people. We do, knit and crochet and collect items all year long. They are used and very much needed about 9 months of the year. The other 3 months we're still busy stock piling to not be caught off guard when those in need feel the changes in weather so much more then we do with a roof over our heads.

Donating Scarves and Slippers for the Homeless

Thank you Patty L, fellow Ohioan for your thoughtful donation of 3 crocheted scarves and 2 pairs of slippers. We appreciate your on going support. The lavender is such a pretty shade, and reminds me of Spring. I know we're all anxious for Spring to come about. As I type this scheduled post, it's been a day of snow fluffies....but there are some promising signs that spring does have a fighting chance.

We do collect all items (except squares) all year long, so if spring is hitting you...in your neck of the woods, don't put away your yarn and hook/needles. Keep those hands busy. I'll be making deliveries for several more months to the various groups in need. Then, when it finally is warm enough the need isn't there; we'll stock pile to be ready before weather changes again.

Designing GemStone Afghan

Not to long back I dumped all the squares from their containers and designed quite a few which are in que to be assembled. This is one from Liz's (minnesoda on The Ville), brightly colored squares. I've named this one GemStone. Thought of birthstones when I saw these nice squares with all the great colors. Stay tuned, I'll be previewing additional designed ghans from all the lovely squares. Of course keep checking back to see the finished product as well.

I'm not anticipating the need to highlight squares for some time yet; but please keep checking the calendar. Thank you Liz.
