Final Numbers for 2020 Donations, AND New Goals for 2021

Here are our totals for the last 4 years 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.  You can see the percentage of our goal met for this past year, AND you can see the average of the 4 years which we will use for our goals for this year, 2021.

Notice the 2020 figures in red, Afghans, Hats, and Mittens are the 3 items we donated more in 2020 over 2019.  Additionally, note we made goal in two categories, Afghans and Mittens last year.

The format I used to use to make our little spread sheets no longer exist, so once I made the above on google docs all I could do was save as a PDF which I can't use here on blogger, so then printed and saved as a picture, which is why it's a bit fuzzy.  If someone knows another method, please let me know.

Keep your yarn and hooks and needles busy folks and let's see if we can make goal in more categories this year, 2021.

Many thanks for all you do.

Each and everyone of you have helped make a big difference in the lives of those less fortunate.  You have helped to warm, both physically and mentally those in need.  Well done ladies.

I hope each of you have a good 2021, I know we're all in need of the year being better than 2020 was.

Please pop back in for our year end totals.

Last Donation of the Year, 2020

Thank you Sandie P for this awesome donation of crocheted scarves!

If you've visited this blog before you probably know Sandie P from Louisiana is our longest standing donator.  She and I belonged to a charity group way way back on Crochetville.  To tell you how long ago that was, the charity was helping Katrina victims.  Somehow it seems fitting, given our long history that Sandie's donation marks the last donation for 2020!

Love the scarves, nice variety of sizes and colors.  Shockingly the day I photographed her donation there was actually a wee bit of sunlight coming in the window......trust me when I say that doesn't happen very often here in Gray Cloudy Central Ohio.

Sandie's 7 scarves brings out total of the year to 146 for a percentage of 0.6697% of our goal, which was 218, 72 short of our goal.

Please know you have helped many people throughout the year with your donations Sandie, and keep up the good work.

I'll be posting final numbers in a few days, and new goals for 2021, so please keep checking back in folks.  Let's hope 2021 brings us a better year on many levels.

Loomed Hats Warm Heads of Homeless and those in Need.

Thank you Karen S for this donation of nice warm hats!  Karen knits her hats on the loom, and always tags them with cute hand made tags to show the size.  Please click to see her work.  As always, these are great colors and work well for men or women.

Karen has been a loyal and long time supporter of Bridge and Beyond and Ohio's homeless in need.  I know those who receive her hand made items are appreciative and warmer!  Warmer both in spirit and physically.

Winter is truly upon us now in Central Ohio, so warm knitted and or crocheted items can make such an important difference in the lives of those in need.  This has been an especially difficult year for us all, so I thank you for thinking of others.

Keep up the good work.

Lapghan and Afghans for Homeless

AND, the count continues for afghans/lapghans crocheted and donated by our friend Marsha M.  I am still chipping away with laundering and blocking.  This will be the last bunch being counted this year.  This summering looking ghan is crocheted side to side.  What a pretty color combination.
This big center square granny is similar colors as above, but more pastel.  These two are obviously very much suited to the ladies/teens.
A variation on the ripple style, crocheted side to side.  Another more lacy/open stitched pastel in colors for the ladies.

Here's one that will work for a male, almost camo-ish crocheted in the center square design.

AND this one will work nicely for the younger set, both is size and color.  Looks like a Kaleidoscope to me.  This granny design is started with a dozen smaller squares stitch/crocheted together and then edged.

**This brings Marsha M's count to 30.....so far.  I won't get anymore of her donation ready till next year, so please keep check in.

Knitting Warm Goodies Helps Homeless

Thank you Laura E for this thoughtful and generous donation.  She's been very busy with her knitting needles and yarn.  Click to enlarge so you can the picture better.  Laura has included lots of hats, all nicely tagged with size.......YIPPEE!!  She's also knitted some scarves, and cotton wash cloths.  The cotton washcloths is the always popular, Grandma's favorite, knitted corner to corner.

She's included personal care items and socks in donation.  Something for everyone.  AND did you notice...she packaged up some sun from Florida for me, lol.  Seriously, you don't often see in the pictures that sunshine is coming through the window when I'm photographing donations, so I'm giving her credit for adding it to the box of donations, lol.

Folks check out our numbers, we're close to the end of the year.  We've hit goal with our afghans and mittens.  AND we're just over 75% of our goal for cotton washcloths and the same  for socks.  It's exciting to see the numbers go up.

Stay safe all.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
