Crocheted Hats and Scarves for Bridge and Beyond

Thank you Kathy S for this wonderful donation of crocheted goodies. Kathy has been busy, as you can see.  She's been busy crocheting scarves and hats.  Great colors Kathy!  As of the time of writing and scheduling this post, this could be the last donation of the year....however, by the time you read this scheduled post, we could have others......so stay tuned.

Post will continue and counts for donated items for 2019 will continue through the end of the year...even if those items received before the end of the year are posted in early 2020.  Wow, that seems odd to type 2020.  It's been a rather fast year it seems to me.

Many thanks Kathy for thoughtfulness, please know you have warmed those in need.

Donations Help Others

Thank you Laura E for this thoughtful donation.  Laura has included quite a variety of goodies in her donation for Bridge and Beyond.  Lots of personal items, slippers, socks, a hat and scarf, and cotton washcloths.

Many thanks Laura.  Please know your help is very much appreciated.  Folks, keep our friend Laura in your thoughts, please.  She's recovering from surgery and a family tragedy; but still is giving of herself to help others.  What a special person she is.

((HUGS)) Laura, please take care of you and again thank you for your thoughtful donation.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas.  I hope you all are staying warm and healthy.  I hope you're able to spend time with friends and loved ones on this special day.

I'd like to be sitting by that fireplace right now, as it's COLD here.  Yesterday when I got up it was 10, today 20 degrees.  Those temperatures make you realize how important these warm knitted items we make donate are.

If you're traveling for holidays, I hope you all have safe travels.

Please think of others, less fortunate on this special day.

Loomed Hats Warm Homeless

Thank you Karen S for this awesome donation of knitted hats and scarf.  Karen has loomed the hats which are always great.  The method of knitting hats with a loom provides a double thickness for the brim area (which covers the ears), and is always nice.  She's added cute size tags.  Please click to see the details of tags which are heart shaped and say handmade specially for you.  They include the size and are tied onto the hats.  Perfect!

She's always included one of her signature scarves made with the cro-knit method.  I've posted the video on how to do this interesting stitch several times here on Bridge and Beyond.  If you're interested, use the search box in the right hand sidebar and it will come up for you.  You get a two tone effect, lots of texture and added warm, as this stitch is a bit thicker by nature.

Many thanks Karen for your on going support of Bridge and Beyond and Ohio's Homeless.  Please keep up the good work.  You do make a difference.

Heat Wave Yarn Helps The Homeless

Thank you Sandie P from Louisiana for these great crochete scarves.  The first picture, the solids...all great colors.  AND Sandie recently shared she'd tried out a new yarn.  Red Heart Heat Wave.  Very interesting, heat generating yarn.  It's machine washable and comes in a 3.5 oz 198 yard skein.  It's sunlight activated even on cloudy days according to the wrapper.  I had no idea such a thing existed, but.........she did and tried it out.  The feel is still soft.  Someone with more physics background might understand how this is possible, goes it sure goes over my head.  Thank you Sandie for spreading the info.
These two additional scarves are fun, the blend of the 3 colors on the left (not stripes, but blocks of color, love it!)and a very lightly changing colored of gray, taupe and purple on the right.

Many thanks for your long time support of Bridge and Beyond and Ohio's Homeless in Need.  You've made such an important difference in the lives of many through the years.  Keep up the good work.

Scarves and More for the Homeless

Thank you Lisa N!  What a generous and thoughtful donation.  Folks please click to enlarge the picture (remember, that's something you can always do).  I want you to see the details.  I particularly LOVE the colors in the scarf on the far left side of the picture.  Very nice...they all are, but those colors call out to me personally.

Lisa's been busy with crocheting cotton cloths, scarves and a hat!  These nice warm scarves are so needed, it's been quite cold and wet here in central Ohio.  Our homeless friends need these warm items, so please folks keep them coming.

Lisa, many thanks and please keep up the good work.  You've warmed a lot of people with your donation.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
