Help From Tennessee Aids Ohio's Homeless

WOW! Look at this awesome donation from Anna W from Tennessee!  Thank you Anna, such a generous donation.  This isn't the first time Anna has given of her time and her talents to help Bridge and Beyond.

Wonderful colors, great size variety and everything is so well made.  The yarn she used is so nice and soft, whomever wraps up in these scarves, or pulls on a hat or writs warmers is going to truly feel comforted.

Anna has tagged all her hats with size, thank you for doing that.  And a nudge to remind everyone to, please and thanks.

Anna looks to be a whiz with the looms.  Pretty sure the hats and scarves are knitted on looms, and I think???? the writs warmers (fingerless mitts) are as well?  I would love to post the pattern you used for warmers/mitts, as they are particularly nice.  The sizing seems like a real bonus to me.  The are nice and long and would really aid someone trying to stay warm.
I tried to show you how nice and long they are, but am not good with holding the phone with one hand and pushing the bottom to take a photo.

Thank you Anna, and please keep up the good work and know you truly have made a difference.

Florida Donation Helps Those in Need in Ohio

Thank you Laura E from Florida for this awesome donation.  Look at the variety here folks.  She's knitted hats in several sizes and styles, and cotton washcloths.

In addition to her knitting, she's included lots of items that are always needed and always appreciated.  She included a wide range of personal care items: toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, combs, razors, lotion, cotton washcloths, and some of those handy antiseptic type wipes.  I always like to have those on hand when I travel for convenience...you never know when you'll be able to wash or not....soooooooo for our folks out in the elements, that's a great idea.  Not one I had thought of in the past.  Thank you Laura!  She's also included socks, both for women and men.

Many thanks for the generosity and please keep up the good work, and know what you do does indeed matter and does make a difference.

Teal Crochet Scarf Donated, Though Lost in Space

LOVE this color!  Click to see the details of this awesome scarf from our good friend Sandie P from Louisiana.  Folks this crocheted donated scarf has been lost in space.  By that I mean somehow lost between my phone and my computer..

Let me explain, as best I think I understand what happened.  In case any of you experience something like this.  I stopped using my camera to take pictures for the donations here on Bridge and Beyond some time back, as the pictures on the phone were actually turning out better.  There are several methods to transfer photo's from your phone to your computer

  1. Plug in with USB port and follow prompts
  2. Click share button your phone and email them to yourself, then open on the computer and save to the computer
  3. Send as attachment in an email to yourself from the phone, and again open on the computer and save to your computer
Most of the time I use the 3rd option.  Plugging in with USB port for a few pictures just seems cumbersome and time consuming, and if I'm emailing as attachment vs sharing, I can send 2 or 3 pictures at the same time in one email.

You get a prompt it's been sent, and then I generally delete it from my phone gallery when I load it/save it on my computer.  For some weird reason, it wasn't on my computer, it didn't fully get sent to the computer, it was like it was limbo...in neither place.  Then out of the blue (a week or 10 days later), I got the email it had somehow been in the send loop all that time.  Strangest thing.......never had that happened before.

All that to say is, this wonderful scarf has now appeared.......truly lost in limbo, in the airways or something??!!

Thank you loads Sandie P, always wonderful work.

Has anyone else had anything like this happen?  Don't know if it matters, but my computer is windows (10), my phone is Android.

**Came back to edit to let you know the scarf is Teal, and Sandie told me what type of yarn she used, Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek Chunky, Teal.  It's really pretty.

Crocheted Donation from Upstate New York

Look at this wonderful donation from our good friend from upstate New York, Annemarie D.  Annemarie's been a long time and generous supporter of Bridge and Beyond and Ohio's Homeless.    She's included something for everyone here with her crocheted donation.  A couple of sets of matching hats and scarves...one set even has a pair of fingerless mitts.  Cotton socks which are always in need and appreciated, as well as cotton washcloths in her donation.  She's been very busy with her crochet hook.

Many thanks Annemarie for your generosity and your on going support.  Special thanks too for tagging your hats with size, as well as her mitts.  I nudge everyone to do that, pair your mittens and slippers and always tag those and your hats.  It's a huge time saver in getting donated items to the right people.

Many thanks Annemarie, please keep up the good and know YOU make an important difference in the lives of others.

We're happy to have you join us here on Bridge and Beyond Terri.  So many wonderful people from around the country, it's heartwarming.

Knitted Hats Made With LOVE

Look at these cute hats!  Many thanks Karla T for this thoughtful donation of loomed knitted hats.  She has a nice variety of size and color.....and what a special touch, please click to enlarge so you can see the cute cute size tags she used!  These are adorable.  She's added the size to the back.

Made with Love!  How sweet and appropriate is that!  Looks like she's printed them on her computer, punched a hole and tied on with yarn.  And as I said above she's written the size on the back.  This makes the whole thing seem so much like a gift........which it is; but we might forget that from time to time.  When we think of donations, we may not equate that term with giving a gift.  We're giving a gift to say we care, we love you, we wish the best for you.

Karla, gotta say.......you win the day with these.  They really made me smile and brought back a memory.  When I first started knitting and crocheting for charity.........YEARS ago, someone on line found silver and gold charms that were shaped like a heart that said made with love.  I used to tie the charm onto afghans I made for Squares for Survivors.  A charity to benefit those in Louisiana from hurricane Sandy.  At least from memory I think it was Sandy.  Haven't used or seen or thought of those little charms in a long while; but....they didn't have the ability to add size which your cute size tags do!

Keep up the good work and know your hats have made 5 more people warmer, and they know someone cares for them.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
