Pastel Garden Afghan in the Works Needs a New Name

Here's Pastel Garden in stage One, it's original design.  At some point the upper right square with the Teddy Bear was removed to a more appropriate afghan design and a celery color green square was added to replace it.

Here's Pastel Garden after our friend Tristi started edging some of the squares.  With the dark green, it no longer looks like pastel garden, so believe we're  in need of renaming it.  Tristi has passed this ghan in the works back  to me  for completion.  Anyone have any ideas for a new name?  We'll have time to maul it over, as I have 3 other ghans currently in the works, so unsure when I'll get back to this one.

Green Garden is all I've come up with so far.  Secret Garden?  The book....just popped into my head.

Speak up folks.

Hats for Kids at West Broad Elementary School

Look at these awesome and adorable hats knitted by our good friend, Sandra R down in Florida.  She's made 30 hats.  Some are small, some are mediums,  some are larges, and others extra large....KIDS!  So many wonderful colors for both the girls and the boys, several styles as well.  These were passed along for our friend, Elizabath Parson's West Broad Street Challenge.  So far, Bridge and Beyond has donated 75 hats towards her goal of 600.

Though the date of this post is the 7th and her deadline is the 2nd, it's because I schedule posts remember and have been scheduling every other day of late.

These hats are warm, soft and truly perfect in everyway!  Many thanks Sandra, you must knit in your sleep.

Matching Mittens and Hats for Ohio's Homeless

WOW.....look at this marvelous donation of knitted hats and matching mittens from our good friend and long time supporter Sandra R from the warm state of Florida!  Sandra has really outdone herself here with hats and mittens suitable for men, women, and children.  What a wonderful selection of styles and sizes, as well as colors.  AND she remembered to tag them all with size, as well as paired them up.

If you've been here to Bridge and Beyond before, you know I get down right giddy with excitement when we get mittens...it's just something there's never enough of.

Many thanks for taking the time

Hats for Homeless

Heads keep heads warm!  Hats for homeless or those living in shelters is a very important item to ward of the elements.  These lovely knitted hats are large enough for a good size man or women and will be very welcomed indeed.  Many thanks Linda W from Ohio for this thoughtful donation.

If you click to enlarge the picture (I often suggest you do that) you can better see the details and variety of styles of stitches Linda used.  The blue hat in the upper left will put a smile on some childs face.  It has a cute  brim.  Hope you can see the details in the picture.

Please keep up the good work  Linda.

Caring for Ohio's Homeless

I knitted scarf and 3 crocheted hats I've had laid aside some time back and just found...The fingerless gloves aren't as warm as nice mittens, but they can be helpful when trying to do something out side with your and need your fingers.  Guess I should check my project bags, and baskets more often, lol.

Another lousy picture colorwise......the dark hat is a pretty purple, but it sure doesn't show up that way.  Must check and see if the camera's setting's have somehow gotten messed with.

Crocheted Slippers Warm Homeless Feet

Had a hard time with the light on the day this donation from Cheryl S was photographed.  Some of the lighter colors are washed out a bit, but you can see she's been very busy crocheting slippers...and more slippers...in lots of colors and sizes.........AND
A couple of hats, a neck gator and a mobius/infinity scarf, and a pair of mittens.  Cheryl's afghan is the previous post........if you missed it, please do scroll back and check it out.

Many thanks Cheryl, lots of feet will be warmer because of you.  Thank you for your dedication to the homeless and those in need.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
