A State Challenge

Yesterday we added Utah to our state map.  I'm excited because it's the time in a long time we've been able to add another state to the list of those where our donations come from.

visited 42 states (84%)
Create your own visited map of The United States or jurisdische vertaling duits?

visited 40 states (80%)
Create your own visited map of The United States or Free ipad travel guide Do you know a knitter, crocheter, or someone who looms from one of the states?
Alabama
Alaska
Arkansas
Connecticut
Mississippi
Montana
Nevada
Oregon
Rhode Island

Those states are not represented.  Wouldn't it be nice to have 100% participation?  Since it doesn't get cold in Alabama and Arkansas, I'm surprised we've not had folks there who like to knit or crochet and donate items too warm for their climates.

Throwing out a challenge....need big hearted crafters from those states to step up and represent their states.  Come on...please join us.

Knitting Humor

A little different type of humor perhaps, but this still made me chuckle when I saw it awhile back on Facebook.  However, I do share needles, lol.  Just recently taught someone to knit and um, shared my needles.  When you're learning you sometimes need to try different types of needles to see what feels right in your hand.

Crocheting and Knitting to Help Those in Need

Thank you Angie M for this thoughtful crocheted and knitted donation.  Angie's knitted hats on the loom, and crocheted cotton wash cloths.  Love the hat colors Angie!
Cotton wash cloths are always a huge hit at both Homeless Families Foundation and Faith Mission.

Keep up the good work, look forward to seeing you here often on Bridge and Beyond.

Folks if you've not checked the slipper tab, please do.  December is slipper month.  Slippers, both knitted and crocheted are needed for men, women, children, and teens.

Knitted Hats from The State of Tennessee Help Ohio's Homeless

Beautifully knitted hats to keep 5 heads warm.  Thank you Marie P for your donation.  She has a variety of sizes and styles.  Thanks also for tagging your hats with the size you made, much appreciated by me and by the shelters who receive our homemade donations.  Tagging the hats aids in getting items to the right locations and group of people in need.

Personal care items are also always appreciated.  Keep up the good work Marie P.

Folks, yesterday was the first of December!  I'm still in shock about how fast time is going.  December's focus is slippers.  Slippers are need for men, women, children, and teens.  Please check the slipper tab for necessary information.  Remember dark is best, double is best, and nice tight stitches for those who crochet.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
