Donating Hats for Homeless

loomed hatsSandie in warm Florda loves to knit (loom) hats and donate them for the cold in need homeless in Ohio, and I'm soooooooooo glad she does. Once again, she's made fabulous hats with such interesting color combinations. Thanks bunches Sandie. We've had another cold spell here, even though it's June we've hit record lows for this time of year so I know those living outdoors in the elements are still wearing hats and scarves at night.

5 more days for our June cotton cloth focus, then will swing into July which will focus on squares. Please check out the directions, working calendar, and frequently asked questions in the tabs across the top of the blog.

Crocheted Camo Squares

Darn, picture is a bit blurry. Click to enlarge so you can see the pinkish camo squares! How fun. I can see this already in a ghan. I believe with pink squares inbetween....and or increasing the size of these squares by adding before putting together?? My mind is already is gear about how to use these fun squares. Though, I must admit since I've been working on a ghan as a wedding present I'm behind in the edging and assembly process; but fear not. ALL your squares do get used. Niki at Butternut St sent along some odds and ends of yarn which I'll also put to good use. Thanks so much Niki for your donation.

Hey folks...we have 2 Niki's Nikki's now. Niki in Arizona and Nikki in Ohio. Both have blogs and are listed on the blog log.

Donating Crocheted Goodies is Love

crocheted items for homelessOur good friend, RoseMarie has done it again. Crocheted bright cheery pretty goodies for the ladies/girls. You might now recognize her signature item...the crocheted flower with a button center. These darling scarf and hat sets will surely please the young girls. In addition to the 4 hats and scarves and 6 cotton cloths, RoseMarie donated some soap and shampoo. Fabulous, those will included in the personal care packages for Faith Mission.

Thanks again RoseMarie for your ongoing support of our cause.

**Did you read about our winners? The winners of the comment contest? Scroll back 2 posts and see who the 2 winners were.**

And The Winner is!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks for all who participated in the comment contest. I appreciate the 16 of you visiting, making comments all which help the blog which in turns gives us the ability to help more people in need. I'm thrilled to say from the time the contest started counting the comments of those participating we generated 470 comments! That's awesome. I love seeing you enjoying admiring and encouraging each other that way. I hope many that were coxed into commenting then will continue the habit.

You do not need to be a blogger to make comments. I know many of our non blogging folks who donate are timid and or unsure about making comments. You do not need to join, you do not need to register...you can, and I hope you will make comments. All you do is:
1. Type your comment
2. Click the drop down box that says name and url
3. Type your name, leave the url portion blank
4. Click publish...............

And the winner after plugging numbers in random.org was non other then our long and faithfull friend, Sandie in Louisiana! She went to town folks posting away and gave herself over 80 changes to win. Many thanks Sandie for your long term support, your skillful craft, your support by way of making comments, and your friendship. All are valued.

Sally in NJ did very well also with about 40 chances to win; so I'd like to sweeten the pot a bit.

Sandie will win the generous $40.00 gift card from JoAnn's supplied by a very special lady who wishes to be a secret Santa type. Hugs. AND Sally I'm going to send you some yarn.

Ladies, please email me at sandycrochet@gmail.com to forward your snail ady's. I'd like to get to the post office this week.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
