A short while ago I knitted a corner to corner camo cotton washcloth.
And then had fun with a yellow butterfly washcloth.
Got both at the ready and hope to make some more. What a perfect short term project, light weight for the hot seasons...throw it in your purse and work on it at lunch...and or in your brief case. Must be a true connection. I had decided we'd knit and crochet and donate these quite awhile ago; just wasn't sure which month. Then spoke with Rae who indicated she was going to have a need with the guys under The Bridge (s). Then several days ago a call went out on Facebook from Jennifer that Faith Mission was really in need.
Cotton and or cotton blend wash cloths. We knitters and crocheters know how much we like them, how nice they are on our skin; think of those living outdoors with weathered skin. They think they are special when they receive our hand knit and crocheted washcloths.
The mothers and kids at Faith Mission will know someone cares when they receive a pretty, cute, and special hand made cloth.
Get your hooks and needles going folks, this is the first time we've been asked to supply these, though we have in the past; the need right now is great. Let's flood them with soft, well made thoughtful knitted and crocheted washcloths.
11 more days of the comment contest, keep busy making comments and improve your chances to win a fun $40.00 shopping spree at JoAnn. The skies the limit.
Have you noticed the new tabs across the top of the blog, the working calendar for example? Please check it out.
All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated, and all donations keep someone warm. We help, one stitch at a time. YOU truly DO make a difference. THANK YOU!

Help from the state of Louisiana
This came during our May focus on scarves, so how perfect is that!
As you may already know, this is now June and we're focusing this month on cotton washcloths. Knitted and crocheted cotton washcloths for Men, Women, and Children. These cloths will be delivered to Faith Mission (both sides Nancy Place for the women and children, and the mens night by night shelter side), as well as our Men under The Bridges.
Interesting to note how our timing happens to match well with a request for washcloths and personal care items from Faith Mission. Just 2 days ago I received a notice on facebook that Faith Mission was extremely low and in need of personal care items.
June is a perfect time for these needed small projects, so please toss your hooks and or needles into your purse and or briefcase so you can do a row here and there. Please consider helping us spread the word by blogging about the need, talking to your friends-neighbors and family. Post on Rav forums, Facebook, and Tweet.
100% Cotton or a nice cotton blend; but please refrain from acrylic only. Thank you for all the work and support you all provide.

Donate and Become a WINNER
Donate and you will be the winner. Yes that's right if you donate something to someone in need, you are the winner. Yes, I know they are the ones who receive a necessary item; but I still contend you are the winner. You've been able to give a piece of you! You've been able to give the best of all, a piece of your heart. You don't have to know a person to do that.
You use your talents, your time, your energy, and yes your money...after all, you have to buy the yarn that you're going to create with. Look at all that giving you're doing. Then after you make something, you give it away. You give it to someone you don't know; to someone who can't say Thank You. You give it away knowing you'll not become famous or get any tangible reward for doing so. You are the winner! You win the greatest feeling, knowing you've helped someone who needed your help. That feeling of helping when you donate a hand knit or crocheted, or loomed hat, scarf, pair of slippers, or pair of mittens is what makes YOU the winner.
People donate so others will have more, people donate to help people stay warm and dry, to give them hope. This is not the only charity that asks that YOU donate. There are many, because the need to donate is HUGE. The need for us to take care of others less fortunate is our honored duty.. So donate, and be winner. You'll be glad you did.
I've added a working calendar to the blog, see tabs across the top. Plan what and when you can donate what. Keep knitting and crocheting, it's still cold, wet, and dreary here in Central Ohio and The Homeless need You.
Read the Before you Donate Tab, it should answer most of your questions

I'd also love to know what pattern you used for those slippers in the middle...the shape is especially nice. Can you pass along your pattern, and or link to the one you used?

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
