We had a "Twin"

crocheted scarf
lol
If you saw this post, you might think we did have a twin, or that I duped a post, or posted the same picture twice. Nope. This is the 2nd scarf made from this yarn; though this one is bigger. It measures close to 9 inches wide and about 78 inches in length. It too though came from our friend Rae's mother's yarn stash. How wonderful that we're able to continue the quest to help others. I still have more of this yarn and am thinking about what to make next with it. I thought it would be fun to keep track of how much was made from this one donation. (be sure and scroll down the right sidebar for total miles knitted and crocheted). I've almost hit a whole mile with this special yarn.

Folks, one of our fellow Bridge Team Members is in need of hugs, good thoughts, and prayer. Please hop over top Beth's blog (Crochet Princess) and let her know you care. Her little grandson is having a very very tough time of it. He's only 2 years old. Thank you all for caring.

Please keep up the good work, and keep your fingers flying to help those in need.

Mittens, Mittens!!!

10 Fabulous pairs of mittens, all knitted from Jean out in Wisconsin. Many many thanks Jean. Jean says in her note that she knits these with sock yarn. She uses two skeins of unrelated sock yarn and I LOVE the way they've turned out. Such fun colors and such a fun variety.

Two wonderfully colorful scarves, the striped one is knitted, the scalloped one is crocheted. What a fun idea to change colors every row; but crochet lengthwise for a totally different look.
Many thanks Jean. I'll get these delivered in the next couple of days and know 20 hands will be warmer and happier. (forgot I also wondered what pattern you used for the stripped knitted scarf, love the texture).

Are your mittens made with DP's Jean, or straight needles?

Keep knitting and crocheting, thanks to all

Oophs, just realized I missed one pair of mittens. So here's a nice close up. Look at the colors, aren't they great!

I'm excited and wanted to share.

Folks, we recently hit our 1 year Anniversary, that was back on Dec 2, 2009. Our first post regarding this cause was Dec 2 08. This post is #102. I didn't notice it when I posted #100, which I think is a cool milestone.

I wanted to say thank you to all who've knitted, all who've crocheted, all who've helped by donating yarn, all who've helped some of you get your items mailed here by helping with postage, to Rae for making the deliveries, for my SIL for being our go between and hooking me up with Rae. More thanks go out to all who've made a blog post about our cause and or posted our badge to help spread the word. And thanks also go to those who sent money for socks.

I appreciate each and everyone of you. All donations are important, all are needed, and all are appreciated.

Bless you all for helping to warm another human being. Please keep up the good work.

**worked some on 2 scarves while traveling to and from St. Louis this past wkend, hoping to get them finished in the next day or so.

Give them Back, Stella! NOW

Stella, you can model them but they are NOT for you. It's warm and toasty here in the house, those folks under the bridge without a roof over their heads need them. Bunny made them "special" for them. Nice man sized warm soft luscious mittens, a large thick warm soft scarf, and 2 awesome hats. The 2nd hat didn't turn out well in the photo, it's a neat variegated--didn't realize how close to the colors of my spread it was and so it doesn't show up very well. Shoot. Iquickly added these items to the bags for delivery; as it's been horribly cold here with more promised. These folks are really in need of the warmth we can provide. Thank you Bunny.

Please, I know this is a busy time of the year for us all; but do your level best to keep those hooks and needles flying.

So many appreciate YOU!

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
