Thank you Cheryl B for this awesome donation of warm cute slipperys. Cheryl has crocheted nice and tight, and I think maybe used double yarn to make these slippers truly sturdy. They are cute, and will be warm and substantial...14 people will have comfy warm feet. Click to enlarge folks so you can see how cute they are with the decorations she's added. AND, she's also crocheted and included a scarf with her donation. The colors of the scarf don't show up well, it's black and burgundy.
Very nice Cheryl, please keep up the good work.

Donating Crocheted Slippers Helps Homeless
Happy Easter.
While today is a Sunday, and a day off from The A-Z Challenge, we do still have donations to share and praise. These fabulous slippers are crocheted and donated by Cheryl B's friend Romona F. The slippers are nice and thick, therefore both warm and durable with nice tight stitches...and I think double yarn? Lots of colors and sizes to warm feet of many different sizes.
Many thanks Cheryl for mailing your friend, Romana's slippers and for spreading the word for Romona to help us. Welcome to the group Romona F, we're always thrilled to have more helping hands, and look forward to seeing you here on Bridge and Beyond in the future.
Thank you for this thoughtful donation ladies, and Please keep up the good work.
**We've on just begun with the A-Z challenge, tomorrow will be day 5 and the letter E, hope to see you as days and letters continue. Thus far, I'm pleased to say we have some new followers as I write this we're at 311, believe we were at 205 ish prior to the challenge. Comments are picking up nicely and a few folks may join us here with our mission, while others may try to find a similar group in their local area to help; and that's good too. If we've inspired a few more souls to lend a helping hand to their fellow man, it's been successful. On the technical side of things, there are people who signed up that have comments closed, no badge, and or 3 steps to get through for captcha's, who really aren't participating. In past years I've taken time to note them all and, as requested let the organizers know. I found that frustrating, it often seemed it didn't do any good. I now look to see if comments are open, you don't have to sign in or register with another service and whether or not they have the badge, if they don't; I don't read the blog post and move on. Vs taking time to read it, and start to formulate a response and get frustrated at wasting time. My attitude is different this year, and because of that I am less frustrated than other years during the challenge using other blogs. My mission this year is to spread the word about our cause, and the plight of the homeless across the nation. By doing that, concentrating on the larger need, and being hopeful we'll gain some additional helping hands...I'm glad I took the time to join, to write and schedule 26 alphabetical posts, visit other blogs daily, and already feel like it's been a worthwhile venture for our friends, The Homeless who are in need.

Donations Aid Ohio's Homeless
Thank you Cheryl B fellow Ohioan for these nice warm hats. 2 Warmer heads with the temps we've been having is so greatly appreciated.
And this bright cheery colorful ripple afghan. You just can't go wrong with ripple. It's truly an old standby and a favorite of so many. Thank you Cheryl B. for your busy and skillful hands! Please keep up the good work.
It's March, and that means our focus is Men. Things needed for men, darks, solids, sturdy be that hats, scarves, mittens, or slippers. This winter is far from over. Though I am excited it's staying light a bit later; the temps are still frigid and as the writing of this scheduled post, I managed one token day without snow in my yard .......short lived reprieve, as it snowed again and next comes the freezing rain.
2014 Donations:
Hats: 142+2=144
Scarves:74
Socks: 6
Afghans: 9+1=10
Slippers: 20
Rain Ponchos:
Mitten: 9
Cotton Washcloths: 56
Shawls, Sweaters, Vests, Poncho's, Skirts etc. :

Donating Yarn to the Ohio Homeless
Cheryl B, fellow Ohioan donated a box of left over yarn she had in hopes it could be put to good use. I assured it would. You might know Cheryl from Rav as Cheryl1973. Some of above yarn is wool so will be used most likely for those outdoors and mixed with some darker colors. We're happy to have you join us Cheryl, and hope to see you here often. The more, the merrier.
2011 Donations:
Scarves 407
Hats 903
Mittens 247
Socks 2318
Squares 567
Rain Ponchos 8208
Cotton Washcloths 338
Sweaters/Poncho's 10
Slippers 100
Afghans 44 (2 sent to our friends at Pine Street)
Misc Items I've not counted misc items like all the personal care items, the neck warmers, head bands, shawl, hot packs, or yarn etc.
I'm very pleased and excited to see our numbers of donated items continue to grow and hope we see lots more of the same. As the numbers grow, I know we'll be able to help more folks in need. Wouldn't it be wonderful to hit 1,000 this year in hats donated? Or 500 scarves, knowing each item helps some cold man, woman, or child in need.
As a way to remind, and reflect as we approach years end....We help Men living outdoors, truly under bridges. We donate to men luckily enough to get a night here and there in a shelter through Faith Mission. We donate to men trying to keep their families in tact through The Homeless Families Foundation, and we help men living in temporary housing through The YWCA also a family shelter where people are trying hard to get back on their feet.
Tomorrow's post will review the women we aid, please check back.
All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated, and all donations keep someone warm. We help, one stitch at a time. YOU truly DO make a difference. THANK YOU!

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
