Crocheting and Donating to Help Homeless

Awesome!  Look at this nice warm afghan from our good friend and generous supporter, Karen S.  I LOVE the nice dark colors and how warm it is.  This afghan is great both in size and color for either a man or a woman.  I know whomever wraps up in this will be thrilled.

And...Karen's included 20 crocheted cotton washcloths in her donation.  The green works for either men or women, and so does the tan white camo....and I LOVE the fall blend of brown, orange and green.  I've not seen that particular color blend before.  Very nice indeed.  Cotton washcloths, knitted or crocheted have so many uses and are always so well received.  They're used as personal washcloths and are so nice on the skin...more so than purchased washcloths, for those that have been living out in the elements.  They're used as dishcloths as well.  Folks getting a night in the shelter use them, they're put in welcome home packages when people transition from shelter living to a permanent housing situation.  Men, women and children use them.

Look at our numbers folks, with this afghan we're now just past 3/4th of the way to our goal of donated afghans!!  It's almost Halloween, will we make it?  Are you working on an afghan, as we speak?  I'm hoping to have one finished shortly...how about you?

**The counts on our progress bars are current. All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated. The Power of One is awesome, and when we work together The Power of One becomes The Power of Many.

  1. Keep the donations rolling! That Afghan is very nice! Thick and warm.

    1. Ditto what my friend Cynthia said, keep the donations rolling and she's also right about how nice and thick and warm the afghan is.

  2. Nice afghan and washcloths. Good job, Karen. I don't see afghans in the goal bars but glad there have been so many donated. That's great!

    1. Afghans is the very first goal bar, right above the post area Sandie. Thanks for the visit, much appreciated.

    2. Oh silly me. It's in a different place than the others and I totally missed it. Sorry!

    3. To the good, I did finally see the "notify me" thing so I can see responses. LOL

  3. That is a great afghan Karen! I love the colors. Very nice donation of washcloths also.

    1. Totally with you Sue, this afghan is great. Nice solid stitches so it's thick and warm.

  4. Wonderful afghan! I really like the colors. I have another afghan in the works. Hope to have it done before the end of the year.

    1. Thanks for the visit Lisa. I too love the colors in this afghan. Am excited to hear you've got another afghan in the works. Thank you

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
