Crocheted Hats and Scarves Warm Homeless

AWESOME, another fabulous donation from our good friend Karen S.  Blues and Gray are perfect for either men and women.  I've blogged before about this cool technique of how she mixes colors.  Please click to enlarge the picture so you can see what I mean.  There's a dark and light side to the scarves....soooooooooo cool.  She accomplishes this with a crochet hook that has a hook on each end.

I find this such a cool look that I've googled it, watched a u-tube video and someday will give it a try myself.  The lady on the u-tube video says it goes by many names, Cro-hooking, Crochenit, and the stitch is Reversible Tunisian (also Reflective Reversible).

I've tried to get a code to embed the video here for you; but....seems it didn't work.  Will take another look.  Edited to say...yippee, scroll down it worked.

PLEASE Karen keep up the good work.  And special thanks for the nice tags you put with size on your hats.

2016 Donations:
HATS: 377-2=375
SCARVES (Gators, Infinity Scarves)295-2=293

COTTON WASHCLOTHS: 177
AFGHANS: 35
SOCKS: 123

**We started the year with the number of items we had donated last year, 2016; and will subtract our donations from that.  Using the end number for 2016 as the goal for the each item.  So, as the year continues you will see numbers decrease.  Our goal is to meet and surpass the number of items donated last year.**

All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated. The Power of One is awesome, and when we work together The Power of One becomes The Power of Many.

  2. I have used that technique before. I called it crochet on the double. I like the term reversible tunisian though. Very nice look. Nice and thick/warm too.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
