Thank you Linda J from Texas for this thoughtful donation of crocheted cotton washcloths and scarves. The washcloths are a variety of sizes and colors. You may need to click to enlarge the picture folks, it wasn't very bright that day, as you can see by the barely noticeable light filtering through the window.
We use cotton cloths for several different types of donations. They go to all the family shelters and to those living under the bridges. They're used in the shelters both at the front and the back end of folks stays there. Often when people first arrive they have nothing and so a hand made washcloth can feel pretty special for ones shower, particularly if they've been living on the streets. They're used at the end of the stay of folks transition into permanent housing as both washcloths and dishcloths in the welcome home packs. Welcome home packs are a started kit to help folks with necessary supplies as they start out in their living situation.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

ReplyDeleteVery nice colors in the washcloths that you made Linda. Love the scarves also. More warm necks this cold, snowy winter.
