Nameless Afghan Designed for Homeless Families Foundation
Help, I need a name for this afghan. I couldn't come up with anything when I designed it. It's red, tan, and black and has a real mix of shapes and sizes of squares; as well styles. Some are sampler squares/rectangles, some are crocheted granny, some are knitted. I think tan is needed to join and assemble ...does that help anyone with an idea for a name?
**ANNOUNCEMENT: Until further notice we will stop collecting plastic bags, and kitchen containers. We're nicely stocked up on those items for Rae's feeding the hungry ministry. Thank you to all who've helped. We will continue to collect plastic silver ware for the same cause for a while longer, so please stay tuned.**

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY. My first thought on this was that it had a native american feel to it. Also a sunset . Indian Sunset or even Indian Summer would be my name for it. Beautiful as the name, and yes i think a tan would be lovely.Have a wonderful day and GOD BLESS AMERICA
ReplyDeleteI think this Afghan is going to be beautiful as my favorite color is red! It reminds me of the bird the cardinal or maybe the robin. So maybe " red robin" or "red cardinal". In any case HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY AND STAY SAFE EVERYONE!
ReplyDeleteI like the name Indian Sunset that Marj suggested. Very pretty mixture of colors. As always you are a genious afghan designer.
ReplyDeleteThanks you Marj, Sally, and Sherry for your visits. Happy Safe Memorial Day to all, and God Bless America. Your girls are right on the mark.
ReplyDeleteRed Robin makes me think of all those commercials for hamburgers, lol, but I like the idea of Red Cardinal. Thanks for the suggestion Sally.
I think of the end of summer when I hear Indian Summer, after it's gotten cold and then we get a bit of a warm spell again..nice idea. I have about half a dozen ghans that look very Indian waiting to be assembled so probably not Indian Sunset. Thanks Marjorie for the ideas.
Maybe when I start putting it together I can choose between those two.
How about evening sunset?
ReplyDeleteor firefly
