Here's another afghan designed from your squares. These squares are more recent, as you can see they're very close to the same size. I plan to edge and join this with a light blue I have in my stash that looks like it will blend...believe it's close to the lighter blue squares. I named this ghan, Blue Jay
Long ago when my DD was in grade school a couple of parents took a mini bird class in order to be volunteers for the kids field trip to Dawes Arboretum. There's a large bird sanctuary there. One of the things I remember learning was that Blue Jay's aren't really blue. The feathers are translucent and appear blue, but looking at a dead stuff Blue Jay, they are brown. So how 's that for a strange tidbit of info for your day?

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Beautiful choice of color. The different shades play well off each other. I do like the name and the bird, have them in my feeder now and again. This will be a lovely addition to the donations.
ReplyDeleteWith that little tidbit.......we learn something new everyday! Love the color blending as well. And love the name. Just think......you could do a whole series of Afghans and name each for a different type of bird! I am thinking that at the end of the year our Afghan numbers will be way up there!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marj and Sally for the visits and comments. Sally, that's a cleaver idea about the birds. I'm going to give that some thought with squares left not yet designed etc.
ReplyDeleteBlue Jay is very nice. I didn't know that tidbit about the Blue Jay. Interesting...
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing this one put together. Very pretty colors.
