Thank you Diana K from the fabulous state of Georgia, The Peach Tree State for these 2 thoughtful boxes bursting with donations for Ohio's homeless. Colorful granny squares (pink, purple, yellow, gold, and blue). 60 squares that will be used to make afghans for Project "Welcome Home". I may make several from these squares by mixing them with others, I may do specific colors....have not yet created a design but the brain is engaged.
Diana also donated 5 scarves, 4 hats, 9 rectangles, slippers, and a darling Children's afghan. These photo's were taken right after I opened both boxes. Since then the afghan's been laundered and by the time you read this post (remember post are always written and placed in que), it's already been donated!
Many thanks Diane for your thoughtful donation, it's certainly appreciated. We hope to see you here often. Keep up the good work.
This is box 2. Took 2 pictures in order to lay things out so you could better see them. The ghan is a good old ripple in brown which is perfect a little guy.
This is day 8 for December's focus on squares through "Give a Square". Please take time and read square size and color requirements.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Diana K - what a great donation! I just learned to granny myself and it can be quite addictive. I have this picture of someone sitting down to make "a square or two" for that charity in Ohio and days later finally getting up and packing a box of lovely squares like pictured above. Kinda potato-chip-like, can't make just one!
ReplyDeletelol...potato chip like, that's funny but very true! I think I got a couple of posts mixed up, as I posted the ghan in process made from some of these squares before this...typically I have about 2 weeks scheduled.
ReplyDeleteDiana K. what a peach you are to donate all this cool stuff! Many thanks! I know Sandy is going to have a great time with all those squares and there will be a load of warmer folks out there this winter! Keep your hook flying!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lovely donation!
ReplyDeleteSally knows me well, I have indeed been having a good time with those squares...check out Royalty for example.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the visit CrochetBlogger, much appreciated, and the kind words are indeed so. Come again......PLEASE
