Hats and Scarves oh My
Welcome Trudy folks, she's one of our newer members. The gold hat is knitted and the other items are crocheted. Wish you could see the knitted hat better. Shoot, the picture didn't show up well. It had a nice design. I would re-photograph, but have already forwarded these items. I'm making deliveries more frequently right now because of the extreme temperatures, I want these folks to get warm items as quickly as humanely possible. The colors in the 2nd photo are a bit off, as the rose pink and green set is the same rose pink as in the other other picture. Photo's were taken with different light. And as you see, it made a difference.
Thanks bunches Trudy for these hats and scarf sets. They will be distributed at the clinic. Those kids/teens and their Mom's freeze and I know they'll be thrilled to have something warm to wear.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

ReplyDeleteThe scarf on the right is indeed an interesting one. Looks to me like two scarves made in different complementary colors and sewed together? I'm sure you don't remember now as this was a year ago. Interesting idea though. I have made one scarf in the past done that way and was wondering how it washed up. It was a gift though so I never did find out if it worked out well.
ReplyDeleteActually Sandie, I do well remember this. The scarves were all single, and a bit light weight. I sent an email asking if she minded if I combined them to make them warmer. She was all for the idea, and was concerned they might be too light weight. So, with both hats and scarves, I stitches them together.
ReplyDeleteSandy that was such a good idea to combine the scarves. It's always nice to get ideas and suggestions from others!
