MITTENS AND MITTENS PATTERNS NEEDED, POST PATTERNS/LINKS IF YOU'VE GOT SOME
hatsHATS #69-70-71-72-73-74-75-76-77-78-79-80-81-82-83-84-85-86-87-88-89-90 AND (kids hats) #91-92 And a hoody-scarf combo. This donation is from Molly down in Florida. These are the orange and brown hats she spoke about a few days. Variety of sizing, believe most are crocheted with double strands of yarn? Is that right Molly? Will add the two for kids (and maybe one other) to the kids bag. Thankfully we've not yet had kids living there under the bridge and lets all hope and pray we don't. But, I know these can be used at the clinic and The Homeless Shelter. Molly loves to crochet, but warm items aren't needed much down there in warm Florida, so many many thanks for your generous donation. It is needed and will be used here in cold Ohio. When I got home from work tonight at 8 ish, it was 22 and dropping. Think of those that will now be warmer! Brrrrrrrrrr
hatsWanted to photograph this close up as it doesn't show up well in the group photo above. I'm calling this a hoody-scarf. It's like a hood with attached scarf. Quite warm and will keep a lucky lady warmer for sure.
hatsThese are 2 of the smaller hats I've set aside for the kids donation. Nabbed one other from group photo too that I think will work for a child or young teen. One of the black and orange. Please add your thanks and good wishes by popping over to Molly's blog. I've link her name in several locations, and under our team listing you can click on her name and be directed to her blog.

WAIT........I'm not done counting, I need more toes and fingers. Quick someone take your shoes off to help me.
Hats #93-94-95-96-97-98-99-100!!!! Drum roll, can you believe we've hit the goal of 100? I'm raising the goal to 200, it's only January; we've lots of cold months ahead and we hit 100 sooooooooo quickly you're all to be congratulated. Please help us hit that mark for scarfs and mittens if you can. These 8 wonderful hats are knitted and crocheted by Maru. The green and gold ones are crocheted, as is the one almost solid brown hat; but the neat black and brown hat is knitted. Thanks bunches Maru. This is truly appreciated. Ding, Ding, Ding.......thats what I'm hearing cause you helped us make our first goal!!! How cool is that folks.hats Please celebrate with me, as long as you have a designated driver that is. lol Me, I'm just walking to the kitchen to poor a glass of wine and toasting you all!!!

Hugs all around.
**I should also add I worked today on some mittens; knitted...well hum, don't know bout this pattern. I'll stare it another day and decide if it's being frogged. It's more tedious than I had hoped, and I'm not convinced it's anywhere close to the right size for an adult male (even though the pattern indicated it was). I'll keep you all posted.

  2. oh my goodness, how exciting that we have already reached our goal!!! i have some things made already but i want to add more things to the box before i send it off.

i hope that this will be an ongoing project! already i've had an acquaintance give me some yarn to use toward the effort and i am more than happy to do so. i know it might seem silly to knit/crochet hats and scarves during the warm months, but just think how many we can have on hand for NEXT fall and winter when the temperatures drop again.

anyway, i'm really excited to be a part of this, and to be doing something good with my life, my talents and my time in 2009!

  7. Amazingly wonderful!!!! And such beautiful designs and work!! :)
I actually finished my first hat, and almost have a scarf done. I was going to make some more hats, since they are easier and quicker... but will try to do some more scarves since there is a greater need for those. But once I finish this hat/scarf set I will mail it off. Could you email me your address? (kldemarr at gmail dot com)

  8. Awesome! Everything looks so beautiful! I really like that hat that is attached to a scarf. That's a neat idea! I finally got my two scarves finished and will mail them as soon as I get the address. You guys are such wonderful people! Hope everyone is staying warm. The end of this week here in PA, the low is going to be ZERO! Yikes! Stay warm!

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
