Donating Crocheted Afghans Helps Homeless

This primarily gray afghan will be so nice for the men folk, or teen boys.  Big Bold Granny Square afghan crocheted and donated by our friend Marsha M.  If you missed my first post about her afghans, please please scroll back so you can see them all.  You really don't want to miss any of them.
Thank you, Thank you Marsha.  What a busy busy woman you are with your crochet hook.  Is it smoking from the speed in which you crochet?  Seriously!!  Fun how the blues pop in this one.  But wait............keep going.
What truly fun and interesting colors this big granny is.  Doesn't it look like a spring garden to you?  First thing I thought of when I unfolded this one.

AND....the one below, looks sorta partiotic to me.  It's not actually red, white and blue alone, but it looks that way on first glance.  As always, please remember to click to enlarge any and all pictures here on the blog so you can see colors, and details of the wonderful donations our gifted and generous crafters donate.  Many many thanks Marsha!

Folks........be like Marsha, be like the Every-ready Bunny, be sure and keep checking in ...wink wink hint ....there's more.

Crochet Hat and Scarf Sets Donated for the Homeless

Thank you Karen S. for this thoughtful donation of hats and scarves, matching sets!.  Thank you also for taking the time to label the hats with size........that's such a time saver for me, as well as the volunteers at the various shelters.  GREAT colors, suitable for either males or females.

Karen has been supporting Bridge and Beyond with her crochet hook for a good long while.  Thank you for your persistence and longevity!

I've posted before the technique she uses for this interesting light - dark side, but it's been awhile so thought I would again, in case anyone is interested in trying it out.

Here's the post where I included a u-tube video.

Crocheted Afghans for Ohio's Homeless

Looks at this fun, cheery big granny square afghan!  Such interesting color combinations.  Too many colors to count.  LOVE it.  This afghan was donated by Marsha M.  This will work for male or female, adult or teen.  As you probably know, our afghans are donated to Homeless Families Foundation with a letter of congratulations.  There are part of a Welcome Home Pack when families transition from shelter living to a permanent housing situation.  It's a way of saying, Good Luck to you in the future, Congrats on getting into a home; as well as something to keep warm under.
I LOVE LOVE this granny square afghan because I truly love color.  You really need to click the picture to see the details in the colors.  It's far more than just red or reddish orange which is what you see at first glance.  As mentioned above, our afghans are part of a welcome pack and each is put in a see through large plastic bag with a handle and come with washing instructions to help families keep their afghans for years.
Don't stop........seriously, you can see Marsha didn't.  She's been super busy with her crochet hook.  Here's yet another awesome colorful granny square afghan.  Some women or teen girl will be thrilled to get this.  Referring to our pack with the letter and afghan...been awhile since I've mentioned how an afghan can be a family heirloom.  I personally still have one my great grandmother made...in need of repair, but I still have it these many years later.  So, I like to include that brief note along with the laundry instructions so folks can enjoy their specially made afghans for years to come.  Don't blink...keep scrolling.  Marsha's made yet another fun colorful afghan.  This one is not a large granny square, but a traditional side to side style.  Again, the colors are suitable for males or females.

Marsha has been truly busy.  But, stay tuned...........there's more....but, as you know I limited the number of pictures in a post for loading time of blog, and spreading out blog posts which aids the blog placement with search engines.  Sooooooooooo do keep checking back.

Thank you Marsha, look our afghan goal is shrinking!  25 to hit last years mark  How close will we get?

Knitted and Crocheted Afghans in the Works

The colors here are a bit off.  The center of this knitted afghan is navy, not purple as it sorta looks in this picture.  This afghan has been real piece meal.  Started it in the car on a road trip, and then when it got a bit big for car trips, laid it aside.  Have 4 more sections to finish it, then get ends tucks in, laundered and blocked.  Hoping to get this done soon to help with our numbers for afghans.
This crocheted afghan is getting there.  The pink center was donated, and is a nice start.  Thought working on this might produce another afghan a little quicker, as crocheting is faster than knitting.  After several more rounds of the variegated, will do perhaps a pink or blue section next.  Need to check my stash and see what works.

Hope you're all busy trying to finish up some projects.  I'll keep ya posted how we're doing against our goal of matching last years donated afghan total.  29 to go.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
