Knitting Humor
A little different type of humor perhaps, but this still made me chuckle when I saw it awhile back on Facebook. However, I do share needles, lol. Just recently taught someone to knit and um, shared my needles. When you're learning you sometimes need to try different types of needles to see what feels right in your hand.

Crocheting and Knitting to Help Those in Need
Thank you Angie M for this thoughtful crocheted and knitted donation. Angie's knitted hats on the loom, and crocheted cotton wash cloths. Love the hat colors Angie!
Cotton wash cloths are always a huge hit at both Homeless Families Foundation and Faith Mission.
Keep up the good work, look forward to seeing you here often on Bridge and Beyond.
Folks if you've not checked the slipper tab, please do. December is slipper month. Slippers, both knitted and crocheted are needed for men, women, children, and teens.

Knitted Hats from The State of Tennessee Help Ohio's Homeless
Beautifully knitted hats to keep 5 heads warm. Thank you Marie P for your donation. She has a variety of sizes and styles. Thanks also for tagging your hats with the size you made, much appreciated by me and by the shelters who receive our homemade donations. Tagging the hats aids in getting items to the right locations and group of people in need.
Personal care items are also always appreciated. Keep up the good work Marie P.
Folks, yesterday was the first of December! I'm still in shock about how fast time is going. December's focus is slippers. Slippers are need for men, women, children, and teens. Please check the slipper tab for necessary information. Remember dark is best, double is best, and nice tight stitches for those who crochet.

Knitted and Crocheted Slippers Needed
Can you believe it's December already? Wow, where does the time go? December's focus is slippers. Slippers are needed for men, women, and children. Please take a look at the slipper tab.......CLICK HERE. You might enjoy trying one of the slipper patterns there.
Slippers give folks in shelters, even the men who might only be there a night or two the opportunity to put something clean and dry on their feet. It gives the ability to wash their socks. Clean dry feet make everyone more comfortable. Beyond comfort, having dry warm feet also improves health conditions.
Slippers help take off the chill for those living in temporary shelter quarters where heat often isn't as good as it could be. PLEASE consider using bulky yarn, or double yarn, or making two slippers and put them together for thickness and durability. PLEASE consider using single crochet or hdc stitches vs double crochet if you're crocheting with regular worsted weight yarn...or even drop down a hook size or two to tighten up the stitches.

Matching Crocheted Hat and Scarf Donated
Thank you Victoria P for this matching crocheted hat and scarf set! This will be so appreciated by the person it keeps warm. Our temps here have been well below average and many people are in need of warm items. Got another request just yesterday from the Holy Family Soup Kitchen. We just recently made a delivery there, which they were thrilled to get; but indicated they really are in need of more.
For those new to the blog, or perhaps folks who've not read about Holy Family before. They feed thousands of people each and every week and pass out our warm items to those waiting for a hot meal. Sometimes it's men, sometimes it's women, and sometimes it's whole families in need. Currently, the largest need is for men.
Thank you Victoria, please keep up the good work.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
