Excitement for Bridge and Beyond

The above is a picture of a just released new book about crocheting, the healing benefits of it. A fellow blogger, Kathryn Vercillo is the author. She writes a blog, Crochet Concupiscence, that I highly recommend you visit. Please notice she's been added to the blog log here on Bridge and Beyond. (the picture of the book is a live link and will take you to the amazon page where you can order it and read a bit more about the book and Kathryn)

The excitement I wanted to share with you all today is she has listed Bridge and Beyond in her book in the resource section. How cool is that! Naturally I appreciate this, as it gets the word out about what we all do here together as a team. The knitting and crocheting, and the caring that goes on...day after day, stitch after stitch.

I was surprised, and thrilled when she informed me she listed Bridge and Beyond
in her book. What a sweet and thoughtful thing to do. And so, I hope you all pop over and visit her on her blog and add the book to your shopping list. It's not yet in local book stores, but is available on line through Amazon....which is awesome, we can order sitting here in the comfort of our computers chairs, while...we're no doubt crocheting and knitting as we speak, read and write. (to order through amazon click the picture above). AND for you hi-tech Kindle types CLICK HERE

Thank you Kathryn, and best of luck with your book sales.

Helping People

Not one of us can eradicate homelessness. Not one of us can feed all the hungry. Not one of us protect all those in danger. Not one of us can cure all the ills, or educate all those in need. But, together one day at a time, one stitch at a time, one point at a time...WE CAN make an important difference. We can and do warm people in need with our knitting and crocheting. And together with our points from Superpoints, we are helping (though much more is needed) kids in need obtain school text books.

The above school books were delivered to my Daughter, Christine the other day. These were purchased (used) from Amazon with the help of Amazon gift cards obtained from converting points from Superpoints. We're working hard, my Daughter and I to continue to earn Superpoints to convert them to Amazon Gift Cards, so many more books are needed. To give you a feel for difficulty of this task (AND THE NEED to have MORE of YOU JOIN US), the above used Health Text Book cost $42.00. That's one used book for one student. So, please join us. 3 simple quick steps will help
  1. Click any of the highlighted superpoints words above
  2. Fill out your mini registration
  3. Verify your email address, AND complete your mini profile/and or post a photo
That's it! With those 3 easy steps, you've begun to earn points. Spin daily to gain additional points. Do surveys, play games, shop and or clip coupons. When you earn points so do we. So, it's a win win. There are many things you can do with your points for you and your family. Enjoy and please Help us Help those kids!

SPECIAL THANKS TO THOSE WHO'VE ALREADY JOINED AND SPIN DAILY, WE TRULY APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU. (It's best to open a 2nd email account if you're going to do more then spin...much nicer keeping all your email separated.).

Donations from the State of Tennessee

YIPPEE! Donations from the state of Tennessee from Marie P. Awesome knitted hats. Great colors, soft, so well made...and tagged! I LOVE it, I truly heart it when people tag items with size otherwise I have to and or the volunteers or workers at the various family shelters have to guess sizes. Hats that work well for males and females her in the mix.

And she's donated a couple of pair of socks........always a hit!

Many thanks for your thoughtful donation, it's truly appreciated.

Hope to see you here often on Bridge and Beyond.

And The Winner Is

This pretty pink mallow is in my Dad's backyard. He's quite the Gardner. I have mallows in my yard, starts from his; but his are prettier this year. Thought they were particularly pretty with the rain drops still on them. Anyway, this beautiful flower is for our winner. SSeger! Woot Woot!

Congratulations to you SSeger. Thank you for taking time to enter the contest. The participation in the month long contest has been very disappointing. Only a hand full of people participated. I'll be putting another contest together and hope to have a better participation. So, please do keep checking in, often.

A new blog post appears 99.9 % of the daily, so the need to check in often is indeed important. Additionally, I'd like to remind people to leave comments when they do visit. We have no way of knowing you were here if you don't leave a comment. I like everyone to support each other with nice comments about their projects, their thoughtful donation etc. You do NOT need to be a blogger to leave a comment.

Leaving a comment is easy:
  1. type your comment
  2. click the drop down box
  3. select name and url
  4. type name in the name space and leave the url space blank
  5. hit ok or publish..........that's it!

SSeger, remind us if you're a knitter, or a crocheter, or both....will help me put your winnings together. Leave a comment here, and email me your snail addy.

Thanks to all who did participate.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
