Very Special Scarves!!!
I'm posting pictures of 4 scarves that might have you thinking of St. Patty's Day...they're beautiful and green which makes me think of lush green grass that needs to be mowed (maybe I'll do that tomorrow, just didn't feel like it today). These 4 scarves are donated by our Dear Sandie. PLEASE visit her page and offer a special thanks. All donations are wonderful, all are appreciated by these seem even more special to me. A friend of Sandie's, Carolyn Toups recently passed and left yarn for Sandie. It is this yarn she used to make these scarves. How special is that. A wonderful way to honor and remember this lady through Sandie's generous crochet hook.
People are AWESOME...I say that a considerable amount and really believe it. If only we could hear more about how awesome and caring people are on the 6:00 news instead of all the negative stuff.
My deepest condolences for the loss of your friend, Sandie AND my sincere Thanks for turning a sad event into a meaningful positive one with remembering your friend with this donation.

Close to below freezing last night!
Spring is here in central Ohio; but.......it's so unpredictable. Days can be warm, though it's been cool for about a week again. Rain again today, but.. last night we were only a few degrees above freezing, so these latest donations are very much appreciated.
Thanks and HUGS to Sandie for Scarf #93 (100 was our goal, we're getting close)
As always such nice work. I love the color combination!
Thanks and HUGS to Ghost for hat #176 (our goal was 200...inching our way there).
I LOVE the neat border, look how much the reddish strip adds to the look! Bravo Ghost.
I'm working on (not as much as I should) a scarf. Having trouble doing it.
Summer is approaching, a time when many of us find it harder to knit or crochet. Yarn sticks to sweaty fingers; so could I ask...if you've not (and I know many of you have) added our badge to your blog would you please do it now? I believe that will help spread more awareness and perhaps get us a few more helping hands. Those in cooler climates might still knit and crochet, or those who are able to have the a.c. on alot.
Thanks for all you've done, you are all FABULOUS!

Spreading the word!
Hope you all have seen my new widget here, BlogUpp...look on the right side of my blog. Click on one or both sides of the widget, right where you see a neat thumbnail of someone's blog. It's very cool. I just got this blog signed up with this new social networking yesterday. This morning I visited 6 blogs through it. Thought it would be a nice way to spread the good work we're doing; and maybe get more helping hands with our project.
If you'd like to spread the word of your blog, PLEASE click on the blue binder portion of the widget, and or go to BlogUpp.com. It's quick and easy, no registration is necessary and even someone without techy savy skills can do this in minutes.
The business of helping the homeless is never ending, and never has enough helping hands. It's been awhile since I've had time to actively seek more helpers, so thought I'd give this a try.
I'm working on a green and blue man sized scarf and hope to have it finished soon. I'll be passing off another round of beautiful donated items, so please keep your crochet hooks and knitting needles busy.
***If you've missed seeing the pictures of the last couple of wonderful donations, PLEASE scroll back
Thanks ladies for all the hard work, you're awesome!

Look at these colors!
Another fabulous box delivered 2 days ago. Look at these colors, so nice! Scarves #86-87-88-89-90-91 and #92. All 7 of these scarves crocheted by Beth (crochet princess). They will be perfect for those folks at the clinic, some teens and younger children. I'll be seeing SIL tomorrow in order to pass these along.
Thanks so much Beth! Someone ask a few weeks ago if we would be continuing now that the weather is finally breaking. The answer YES. Some of our nights are still cool, so the need probably will continue for a short while longer. Then either Rae or I will store them so that when the weather breaks again in the fall, we'll be ready. Rather than having people have to wait until we get our fingers and needles flying again.
Look where we are folks with our goals:
Hats 200-175 ONLY 25 hats to meet goal
Scarfs 100-92 ONLY 8 to meet goal
Mittens 100-41 Need 59 pairs to meet our goal
We will happily accept items beyond our goals.
As always my deepest appreciation for all you've all done! Keep up the good work.

I am THRILLED to see how many people we've been able to keep warm during these cold, wet, snowing, months in Central Ohio. We're having Spring...flowers are coming out with the sun during the day.........NIGHTS, still a different story. We're still having freezing temperatures at night; though are looking forward to that coming to an end. PLEASE keep knitting and crocheting. Anything not working for our men under the bridge will be used for those at the free clinic (women and children). AND....any items not needed at the clinic will be available for the next season. Fall can come fast and cold here in Ohio.
My sincere thanks, once again for so many kind and caring people!
Sandy

A Special Blessing
I am terribly behind, behind in communicating to you how much good we've done, where we stand with our goals, and who's heartfelt beautiful donations have arrived.
My life has been overly full with time at the hospital with Mom, who transferred yesterday to Hospice Care, as her time seems to be near.
I do want to Thank you, packages have arrived from Jenny in Scotland (Wren on Rav.) Mzundercover, and June. I do hope to get things opened and photographed for you all to see.
Happy Easter to all
Sandy

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
