New Helping Hands from Virginia aid Homeless in Ohio

Thank you Lisa Z from Virginia for this thoughtful donation of crocheted scarves and cotton washcloths.  Lisa is our newest pair of helping hands.  Thrilled to have you join us here on Bridge and Beyond to help the homeless.  As always, remember you can click to enlarge pictures folks.  Check out the fall colored cotton cloth in the left lower corner.........LOVE those colors, looks almost like argyle to me the way the colors came out.  Variegated yarn is always fun, you just really don't know it will pattern itself.  I've never seen this particular color before, but Lisa tells me she purchased it from A.C. Moore.  We don't have those here in my neck of the woods, but thought I'd mention it, in-case any of you do and want to look for some.

Many thanks Lisa, hope to see you here often on Bridge and Beyond.

I'm going to try something a little different with keeping our stats.  I'm listing our end numbers from 2015 and will subtract our current number as means of keeping our goal in front of us.  I'll show the goal number in Red.  Let's strive not just to match last years numbers, but.........work towards even more.  Thank you for all you do.  As time goes on, we won't see the year end numbers, we'll see the previous goal and subtract the new donation from it.  Hopefully we'll find this helpful and not too cumbersome...if so, we'll return to our previous format.

Knitted Warmth for Ohio's Homeless

Thank you Yvonne S for this awesome donation.  Look at all the variety in color, size, and style of her beautifully knitted hats.  8 more warm heads!  She's included lots of personal care items that are always needed by everyone; those on the streets and those in the shelters.  A cute pair of warm cozy slippers to make someone's feet happy and 2 really nice warm pair of gloves.

What a thoughtful and generous donation Yvonne.  Many thanks and please keep up the good work.  You've made an important difference for folks in need.  The temps as I type this are bone chilling, so the homeless truly need our help.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
