Crocheted Afghan Sends Warm and Sunshine from Florida for Ohio's Homeless

Another awesome crocheted afghan from our good friend Sandra R from Florida.  And...look she included sunshine for us.  If only it were that simple, sending sunshine that is.  But, we did actually have sun shining in through the windows the day this photo was taken (scroll back there were others as part of her large donation), however.......it was 3 or 4 that day so certainly cold!

Afghans are donated to Homeless Families Foundation and used as part of the Welcome Home Pack they all get when they transition from shelter living to a permanent housing situation.  Something to be celebrated.  Our afghans say congrats to them, they wish them well for a brighter future.  Afghans can be family heirlooms.

Thank you Sandra for all you do.  This afghan is large enough for a family afghan and the color will suit a family, a male, or a female.  Nicely done!

I'm going to try something a little different with keeping our stats.  I'm listing our end numbers from 2015 and will subtract our current number as means of keeping our goal in front of us.  I'll show the goal number in Red.  Let's strive not just to match last years numbers, but.........work towards even more.  Thank you for all you do.  As time goes on, we won't see the year end numbers, we'll see the previous goal and subtract the new donation from it.  Hopefully we'll find this helpful and not too cumbersome...if so, we'll return to our previous format.

2016 DONATIONS:
Hats:  419
Scarves: 181
Mittens/Gloves/Wrist Warmers: 121

All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated. The Power of One is awesome, and when we work together The Power of One becomes The Power of Many.

  1. Very nice afghan Sandra R. It does look very warm. It will be something a family will love for years. I was glad to see you did send some sunshine! LOL

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
