Look what pretty colors! Alma's crocheted another scarf for our homeless. LOVE the colors Alma. Many thanks for your thoughtful donation, your on going support and the love you show through your fabulous stitches!
Alma's also sent along 7 (9 inch) crocheted squares for Pine Street. These are our first. Remember you can send directly to them, or along with hats, mittens, and scarves and I'll forward as a group donation from The Bridge and Beyond. Another wonderful charity benefiting the homeless.
Thanks bunches Alma. I've continued to work on my knitted corner to corner ghan for the same cause (Pine Street), and have crocheted a couple of granny squares at work this week during lunch.
**A word of caution, if you're making squares for Pine Street measure them carefully. They need to be 9 inches to be used. Always be sure and measure both directions. Sometimes I can get my granny squares right on; sometimes not. The couple I made this week at work came out a wee short of 9 inches, so added a sc edge all around and then they measured correctly.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?
I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.
Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Good Sunday Morning Sandy,
ReplyDeleteI found an out of the way yarn shop here in Massillon. I think the lady has more yarn than Joann Fabrics. I found a 9inch granny square pattern on Lion Brand, used for an afghan.

Thanks Alma, think I've got that one. I have a couple of books with lots of squares. It's just sometimes based on yarn and hook, one needs to really work to get the exact size. I know when I've put ghans together with lots of different squares some folks don't measure well or often when making squares. So, adding a sc row can be just the ticket.
ReplyDeletePretty ghan isn't is?
