Hats, Scarves, Cotton Washcloths, Soap Sacks, Afghan !!!

Thank you AnneMarie D from New York for this lovely blue and white crocheted afghan.  A very interesting stitch, not sure I know what to call it.  This will work for men or woman, everyone loves blue.

AnneMarie has been very busy with her crochet hook.  Cotton Soap Sacks with soap inside them.  This has become a new and rather popular thing.  Click to enlarge and you'll see the soap sack tags.  These are referenced in a side group through Warm Up America and are very useful.  Nice variety of colors also.  The darker blue will work well for the men folk, while the lighter colors are nice for the ladies.

Look more awesome soap sacks! And knitted and crocheted hats, and crocheted cowls.  Remember to click to enlarge the picture so you can the nice texture in her two cowls.  Notice the knitted has are large enough to roll the brim up to make a really nice warm band.  The gray stripes to the left of bright purple is rolled up, but you can the hats before being rolled as well.  This design helps make this style hat size variable, which is super.

Can you say hats Galore!!  Some knitted, some crocheted, several different styles and sizes.....AND lots of different colors.  Some suitable for men, some woman, and some can do double duty.  WOW, and all nicely tagged with size.  AnneMarie has truly been BUSY and then some.

A bakers dozen (13).  While many feel the number 13 is unlucky....I'm feeling pretty lucky to receive this donation and I'm certain anyone receiving one of these well crafted hats will feel lucky too.  Again some are knitted, some are crocheted with a variety of styles, colors and sizes.  I'm getting tired for AnneMarie with all this work she's done.

Wow, hope you're still scrolling with me here, because AnneMarie is still knitting and crocheting.  More hats again with a huge variety, something to fit all heads  AND she's also crocheted cotton washcloths, and a couple of scarves on top of that.

Folks I'm missing a picture, double checking my notes for my count there was another group of 32 hats.  I don't know what happened to the pictures when I transferred them from my phone to the computer, but one picture is missing.  Sadly once I transfer from the phone the phone to the computer they're deleted on my phone.  Rest assured there were more fantastic hats of many colors and styles and sizes, both knitted and crocheted.

Many many thanks AnneMarie D from New York.  You've warmed many people with your generous donation.

PLEASE keep checking in, as I will continue to show donations coming in, and provide listings of charities you might like to support after operations cease here on Bridge and Beyond come Dec .31.  Please remember the last date to mail donations is the 24th of Dec.

Some of the charities aid the homeless, some pregnant women, some kids transitioning out of foster care, and native Americans on Pine Ridge Reservation.  Locations vary, so you might find one of the charities listed is in your area, or close to you like a border state; making postage perhaps less costly.

Below is the listing with a very brief description, but PLEASE click on the links to see details about what they accept, what fiber to use, who benefits from the charity and where to mail items.

Afghans for Pine Ridge (Ravelry Group completed Afghans with options for 6-8- and 12 inch squares)

Crocheted Afghans Warm those in Need

Thank you AnneMarie D for this donation of crocheted afghans.  This first afghan is a shell type corner to corner, then edge round and round like a big granny style.  I love this color combination of purples and turquoise with lots of shading.  I can see either a teen wrapping up in this or a woman.  Lovely colors!
This 2nd afghan is a big granny, but with lots of different types of stitches.  Please click to enlarge the picture so you can see the variety of the stitches.  I think from looking there are double crochets, V-Stitches, Popcorn Stitches (or puff stitches), and perhaps others.  Beautiful work.  Again I know the ladies will love this!

Many thanks AnneMarie.  Please know you've made people happy and warm when they snuggle up in these afghans.

Thank you AnneMarie D from New York for this awesome donation.   I think there will be lots of happy feet in the near future.  Seriously, look at this...48 pairs of socks!  How nice is that!  AND look at all the wonderful hats, lots of different sizes, something to fit every head size.  A couple of different hat styles.  Please click to enlarge the picture so you can see what I'm talking about.  AND, every hat is nicely tagged with the size.   Lots of ice darker colors...PERFECT!
AND look at these cute soap pouches!  Aside from being colorful, what a clever idea.  If you can't read the card that is attached, it's S.A.C.K.  soapsack.com The card says each sack is made by a volunteer and comes with soap.  You can use the sack as a washcloth.  It's tell them it's made from cotton and is therefore oft.    I think this would make for a cute gift idea as well, though it's intent is to aid those in shelters.  She's also included crocheted cotton washcloths.

The webpage has patterns for both knitting or crocheting the sacks for the soap.

Many thanks AnneMarie for this thoughtful and generous donation.  Please keep up the good work.

**Folks I'm counting the sacks/pouches as a washcloth so these 20 sacks and the 6 cloths are being counting as 26**

Hats and Scarves for the Homeless

Thank you AnneMarie from New York!  Look at this colorful donation of crocheted and knitted goodies from our friend AnneMarie.  Hats and scarves and if you click to enlarge the picture, think you'll be able to see wrist warmers (left side almost the top, a pinkish set of hat, scarf and warmers).

The weather is breaking a bit, but I'm afraid to say spring is almost here for fear of jinxing it, but don't these colors make you think of spring.  Google tells me it's 8 days until spring as of the time of my typing this post and scheduling it to publish...so by the time you read this it will be even less.  YIPPEE!

Thank you for tagging all your hats with the size, that's really helps getting donations to the right people in a quicker time frame.  If you've click to enlarge the picture, you'll also notice a different style hat (the darker colors).  Those hats are knitted double thickness...that will really make them nice and warm.

Many thanks AnneMarie for your ongoing support of Bridge and Beyond and your generous donation.  Please keep up the good work and know how important your help is.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
