Homeless Men, Women, and Children Need Your Help
This is May 2, hard to believe it's that time already. On the day I wrote and scheduled this post, I mowed...so that tells me the seasons are indeed changing. We had frost as recent as a few days ago, and we don't get the all clear you can plant flowers for some time yet. Why is that important? People are still cold, people are still in need and people still appreciate warm hats and scarves. Thank you Sue S (SSeger in her comments), for this thoughtful donation of personal care items (including female hygiene products), 4 knitted cotton washcloths, and a nice thick warm hat and scarf.
Sue has been a good friend to Bridge and Beyond and to those we serve and is she is much appreciated. She not only knits and donates, but she supports the blog with frequent visits and comments. Many thanks Sue and please keep up the good work.

My hope is to further educate people about what it's like to be homeless, to better understand the nature of this sad situation. The more we know, the better chance we have of helping. Remember, being homeless can happen to anyone.

BEAUTIFUL DONATION SUE. love the hat. It really looks warm. Very nice donation. You cover it all here. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to be in the 80s for the next few days, but that usually brings rain in some form.I personally love the rain, dont know how I would feel if I had to live in it Hope everyone finds a nice dry place to stay till it is over. GOD BLESS THE HOMELESS. marj in minnesota
We may have some warmer temps today, though the last couple of days have been extremely windy making it more cool. Thanks for popping in Marj, I always look forward to you comments.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great donation! I know when I lived in San Diego we would get personal hygiene things like deodorant, toothpaste, etc., the homeless really appreciated it. It was warm here for the past few days in the 70s but going back to the 60s early next week.

Sounds like your weather is a bit ahead of us, but not too different, except that we're still getting frost some nights.
DeleteI feel our warm seasons are getting shorter and our cool seasons are getting longer so donations are always needed. I love you hat, scarf, washcloths and personal hygiene items.
ReplyDeleteSadly Sherry, I think you're right...cause even though we're having some warm days, we're still having lots of wind which makes it colder, and still the frost at night. I really thought winter would never go away.
DeleteThank you everyone. I like get free samples and then I am able to pass them along.
ReplyDeleteThe samples are a really perfect way to do, no expense, plus the size is easy when they might need to move around.
DeleteThe needs change with the weather but one thing never changes...the need.
ReplyDeleteSo very true Delores, thanks for the continued support with your comments and visits.
DeleteGreat donation, Sue!! Keep up the great work! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and commenting and supporting our other helping hands.
