Crocheter from Lima Aids Columbus Homeless

Please join me in saying welcome to Deb C from Lima Ohio, our newest pair of helping hands.  AND what a pair of helping hands she is.  Look at this awesome donation.  Deb has been very busy with her crochet hook as you can see.  She's crocheted scarves (center of the above photo) in wonderful dark colors and look how she packaged them.  She's folded them and nicely tied a ribbon with a size tag.  It truly makes it look like a special packaged gift.  I wish I had thought of that.  She's also used her crochet talents to crochet those cotton washcloths that everyone loves.  Those too are packaged.  Each little bundle has several cotton cloths tied with string.  The cloths are a variety of colors.  These cloths are used by our folks living on the street as well as those living in shelters.  Additionally, they are put  in the welcome packs all family's receive when they transition from shelter living to their permanent housing situation.
In both photo's you see what always makes me giddy..........MiTTens!  I truly do get super excited when we get mittens  donated.  They aren't the easiest things to make, knitted or crochet, so truly Deb I'm thrilled you're able to help us with that much needed item.  She's included mittens in a large variety of sizes and colors to warm many pairs of cold hands.

Thank you Deb, please keep up the good work.

  1. Wow-that is so great! The one lady even took extra time to tie a nice ribbon. I love the mix of dark with bright. The mittens look great and love the lavender colour

  3. Deb C your mittens donation is so nice. So few get sent in and I know Sandy appreciates it. I suspect so few get sent in because they take so long to make. Your time is very much appreciated. Keep up the wonderful job.
