Reflecting on our Donations.

Things have been quiet here for some time on Bridge and Beyond. I've not had boxes to open, pictures to post or donations to tell you about.  This has me a bit concerned that folks aren't knitting or crocheting as much.....that they're not donating as much, or as often.  It's been a good long while since I've been able to make a daily blog post to help our SEO ratings etc.

Soooo, I decided to once again compare where we are to where we were.  I'm pleased and quite surprised that despite feeling like donations are down...because posts and comments are way down, our donations are actually in pretty good shape.  Take a look for yourselves.

The numbers reflect where we are based on the previous post and where we were at this time last year.  We're only behind with 2 items...mittens I'm sad to report we are way way off our mark of last year and rain poncho's though technically we are, it's not really noticeable.

This leads me to conclude that people mail less often, putting more in each box.......logical way to save on postage costs.

Thank you all for your continued hard work.

All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated. The Power of One is awesome, and when we work together The Power of One becomes The Power of Many.

  1. That makes me feel better. I have a BUNCH of stuff sitting here for you, just trying to get the afghan done before I give them to you, but the afghan is going no where :-(

Question about mittens: Do gauntlets or fingerless gloves count as mittens? I've seen a pattern on the mittens tab for fingerless gloves, but I wondered.

  2. Hi Tristi, thanks for the visit and comment, both are appreciated. Good to know you've got some goodies, look forward to another get together. I do not count fingerless gloves/mittens as mittens, they're in the misc area. The fingerless stuff is useful, but it's not the same as a warm pair of mittens that keep your whole hand warm...at least that's the reasoning I've gone by.

  3. That was my thinking as well. I just wanted to make sure. I can whip up fingerless gloves pretty fast but mittens stump me... guess I haven't found the right pattern.

  4. Thanks for posting all the totals. It was interesting to see where we are this year. I am glad that overall more things have been donated. With the high postage and uncertainity of jobs, I have been afraid that donations were down. I know I look at the site every day to see what new goodies have been posted.

  5. I figured it had been quiet at your end because your posts were much more stretched out. I have an afghan I had been working on and was waiting until that was finished to send off a box to you. But the box had some room in it, so I thought I would wait until it was filled.
