This photo is a bit washed out, it's not bright; but has a bit more color then you see in the photo. These squares are almost all the same size so edging shouldn't be an involved procedure. I really puzzled over naming this afghan. I thought sandy...thinking beach, I though cool sand because it was darker then just tan with some green, then thought for simplicity sake, maybe just Sand would work? It's not green enough or bright enough to be grass, let me know if you have some thoughts.
Do you recognize any of your squares in this design?
Have you scrolled back over the last week and half to see if you can
find your squares? I've been designing, naming and lining things up for
assembly. I really need to see how many I have before how long it will
be to accept more squares.
And when I started dumping and dividing and pondering over these squares, it's not because all my previously designed ghan were done; but...it's hard to know what you have until you go through this process.

LOVE THIS ONE SANDY. To me this is very rich looking. I love the natural look of it, and yes SAND is a good name for it. Reminds me of a beach or shore too. This is going to be lovely no matter what you call it.
ReplyDeleteI love the light colors in this one. The only thing I would have done different is put the 4 dark squares in the corners. Sand is a good name for this.
ReplyDeleteI love this ghan, Sandy!
ReplyDeleteI also love this one too. So nice and nutural yet with a bit of color. It reminds me of the sand dunes because they often have a bit if grass growing on them. Whatever you should name it I am sure the family that receives it will love it too. Can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteThanks all for the visits and comments folks. Keep'em coming. Sherry I don't tend to like the 4 corners look unless I have that type of look through the rest of the blog.. here I was going to for the diagonal pattern which I don't think works if you have the 4 corners the dark brown. ?? But, maybe when I lay it again I'll have another look see. Typically I do that again before starting the edging etc.
ReplyDeleteI rather agree with Sherry. The dark brown amongst the lighter colors jumps out and interrupts flow but if you use a dark color for joining that would work well. Perhaps you have some other light colored squares that would go with these? It does look beachy and I'm sure the final product will be lovely and appreciated.
