Yarn, socks, and a crocheted hat from our newest pair of helping hands, Jessica S from the state of New Jersey. 8 pairs of socks are always wonderful, and the hat is nicely sized for a female adult or older teen. I believe the hat is made with single crochets which makes it nice and warm. Welcome to the group Jessica, we're always happy to have more helping hands. Hope to see you often here on The Bridge. Many thanks for your thoughtful donation, it is greatly appreciated.
**September is Scarf Month, and we're having another contest.
From now until October 8, I'll toss names into a hat for everyone who donates a scarf for a teen or adult...male or female. Feeling like we need to bump those numbers a bit and will draw the winning name from the hat and send out another box of yarn. Contests are fun. We've had several fun, productive, and successful contests. Every scarf donated for a teen or adult (at least 5 inches wide and 5 feet or longer please), will qualify. **

Hi Jessica! Love that hat - looks like the very in-style slouch hats that are so popular right now. I hadn't looked @ the sock number on the tally til this a.m. and they sure are needed - how great of you to notice.
ReplyDeleteRight you are psmflowerlady, and thanks for the name of the hat style, I kept trying to come up with it and my mind wasn't cooperating.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to our group, Jessica! I am also from NJ, what part of the state are you from? I am from the Union County area. I love your hat! I can tell you are great with your hook! Thanks for your wonderful donation. There will be one warmer head and some feet doing the "happy dance"!

ReplyDeleteSorry about my commenting twice, Ladies, I am having a little computer trouble!
ReplyDeleteHi:
ReplyDeleteI'm Wendy Lee from Freehold,NJ, and I'd like to knit a/o crochet scarves or blankets for the needy in our state. Please tell me the address to which I should send a completed item and any specific instructions I need to know.
Thank you! wenbowl@gmail.com
HI you all! Welcome Wendy! Sandy, I'm crocheting as fast as I can to get a scarf to you for the yarn drawing.
ReplyDeleteSandie, in FL
Wendy your other comment appeared on a much older post, so they are both here, just thought I'd let you know.
ReplyDeleteYeah...Sandie in Florida, crochet away girl.
Not to worry Sally, sometimes these marvelous computers have a bad day.
Thanks everyone! I'm in Camden County, NJ. I'm working on a scarf, but I am back at school working towards my law degree, so it will probably take a while.
ReplyDeleteSandy--where did my other hats go to? If you can't use them, please give them to good will, or even to a hospital for cancer patients. If you want, you can even send them back to my by USPS regular mail. I'd hate for them to go to waste.
Good luck with law school Jessica, that's no easy undertaking so understand time to knit, crochet and other things will be tight for you.
ReplyDeleteWill resend note regarding other 2 hats, you must not have received my note.
I'm not sure, but I think this is the pattern I used (it wasn't meant to be a slouch hat, lol, I've never mastered gauge and even stitches). http://chiescrochetandknitting.blogspot.com/2005/11/very-simple-skateboarder-beanie.html
ReplyDeleteThanks Jessica for the link, it doesn't look like the hat you made. Your's is sorta a beret, but quite full, the link is a beanie style. Though people might like that pattern too. I'm hoping to get some links added...just need more time.
