Alpaca My Bags

A little humor for you all, as I currently have no knitted or crocheted goodies to show you.

There are some donations in the works to share with you, so please keep checking in.

And remember as vacation times are up and coming for many of us, you can take your hook and needles on planes and yarn sure helps pass time while traveling either by plane or by car....as long as you're not the driver, lol.  AND yarn doesn't add much weight to your suitcase.  Plus vacations are good times to collect those little sample bottles of soap, shampoo, lotions etc from the hotels.

2015 DONATIONS:
Hats: 238
Scarves 94
Mittens/Gloves/Wrist Warmers: 45
Slippers: 63
Rain Poncho's:  95
Cotton Washcloths: 221
Afghans: 16
Socks: 157
Cowls/Hoody Combo's/ 17
Shawls 1
Misc: items like personal care and things don't fit into above categories aren't counted

All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated. The Power of One is awesome, and when we work together The Power of One becomes The Power of Many.

  1. That is a good pun:) I would store the knitting needles away since they may be viewed as a weapon by some of these officials-sad but I also might be paranoid. Oh well, let's see what people will be up to with all the knitting

    1. I do usually pack my good needles and knit with something else on the plane, but have never had a problem with not being able to have them.

  2. Cute. A few years ago I flew. I had bambo needles and cotton in my carry on bag. Sat down beside a lady and out of her bag, she had needles and cotton. We both sat and talked and knitted on dishcloths. It was a fun trip.

    1. That's cool, I've seen a few people knitting over the years while traveling, but never had one next to me to chat with. Very cool.

  3. Dont fly so have never had the oppurtunity to have a friend to crochet with on the plane. Imagine it would be a good place to pass the time.I do carry crochet materials with me almost everywhere I go and am usually in the middle of a project of some sort. Even sat next to a lady in church a few weeks ago that was crocheting during the sermon. Never had the nerve to do that, but she was happy and no one else seemed to mind. Could imagine one of my maiden aunts who always sat near us when I was a child giving me the evil eye if I was doing anything other then paying devout attention to the pastor. One of those things from your childhood that you never outgrow.:+)
Should be a beautiful day today, turned my sprinklers on early today. Gardens are doing so well, good times Have a good one.

    1. I'm with you on the stares in church, appearing not to give 100% attention, though I remember some years back someone telling me she sat in the front of the church and always crocheted and the minister knew she crocheted for charity so was fine with it, still...seems hard to teach children to pay attention if an adult appears not to. Glad your garden is doing well. We had more rain yesterday, again last night and twice so far today, can't imagine anyone has the need to water here.

  4. Every time I fly I see someone knitting or crocheting. It is a great way to get through travel delays.
This past weekend I was at the Philadelphia Writers Conference and there was a woman who was knitting while listening to the speakers. I gave her your blog info...
