A Special Way to Care for Others

This thoughtful donation is very special folks.  This donation comes to us from 10 year old, Laylor F from Louisiana.  Throughout the course of the past year she has saved part of her allowance to purchased toys, personal care items and other supplies needed so that she might donate to those in need.  This remarkable young woman is in the 5th grade at Vacherie Elementary School.  As you can see, she's included items for both little boys and girls, handkerchiefs hand painted for the men living out in the elements, and razors.  A crocheted matching hat and scarf.

This young lady also helps her grandmother, Janis F with making quilts for The Linus Project throughout the year.  She's a member of a special club, Jr. Beta Club where participation in service projects is encouraged.  She's spent a good deal of time singing for seniors in nursing homes as well.  To round out her activities she also belongs to 4H.

Many thanks Laylor for your dedication to others.

Please stay tuned folks for totals.  All items received prior to the end of 2014 will be tallied in that year, even though the posts will appear in the year 2015.

If you're traveling for the holiday, please be safe folks.

  1. What a wonderful gift from a wonderful little girl. It is always so nice when children want to be involved with helping others and this is proof of what we can all do to help. Starting at this young age one can only imagine what you will be doing in later life. Thank you so much Laylor for being the little girl that you are. All the best to you in the future in whatever you do.
